Snipers need to spawn with 4 bullets or a full magazine. Why should a shotgun which is objectively more approachable and "easy" to use get more bullets?
(I used "easy" as Im not salty about shotguns and I do understand that it still does take a level of skill to shotgun, however I think we can all agree that snipers objectively take more skill, at least when you play aggressively with a sniper)
Also I would love to see a buff to flinch (when I say "buff" I mean for there to be less flinch. Right now I think flinch is too much. But thats my opinion.)
Regardless of if snipers get buffed in the ways I have mentioned, I will continue to use them; although you are making my time going for clips a living hell.

I good way to balance snipers is every head shot kill give you a bullet back. So you wouldn’t have to run over and pick up the ammo. Also it couldn’t be abused because it would have to be a head shot to get ammo back.

I feel as if you should flinch more the longer you ads I can see the realism argument but it’s also like this is a game where people have infinite supers

Step 1: Put on Sniper Rifle Scavenger for your Gauntlets and Class Item. Step 2: Get kills with a primary and collect green bricks. Step 3: Go get your clip with your newly acquired ammo. It can't be that hard.

The problem isn’t Snipers imo. I think they’re good. The issue is that maps are so small and ideal for shotguns. There aren’t too many open lanes either. Wormhaven feels like its curved specifically to counter Sniping and promote Shotguns. That’s why I loved to see Pantheon return with the two big straight lanes. Just destroy unsuspecting Shotgun apes.

Leave the sandbox as is. Weapons across the board are in a pretty good place and only need minor tweaks at most and its simple things like small range reductions and small target acquisition buffs or reductions. Only thing in the entire sandbox that actually needs work is Nova Warp.

Sometimes more if enemy had a lot of special ammo. Obviously u can’t at a beginning of the match. But that a good thing. U gotta do work to get rewarded with 1 shot ammo, not just given to you for dying.

And what about every other fusion rifle besides Telesto being a inconsistent pile of dookie? Or Auto rifles needing 90% precision hits to be competitive? There is a lot wrong with Crucible atm and sniper rifles isn't one of them. It's the map design if you really wanted to improve your opportunities. Bungie drastically reduced sight lines on every map. It completely favors hand cannons, shotguns, and pulse rifles. Every. One.

Running scavenger perks is only half a fix to the problem as snipers are long range weapons so u are less likely to get special ammo for them and it takes a lot more work to gather sniper ammo then shotgun ammo so why should snipers and shotguns be reduced back to 2 shots on death when shotguns will easily gather the ammo again? At least add 1 more shot to snipers so they present an extra opportunity for use and make them 1 hit headshot supers unless they are 9 or 10 resilience. IMO thats fair.

The current ‘2 shots off spawn is fine’ - with scavenger I can typically collect up upwards 10 rounds in most of my lives & have a short streak A reduction to flinch would be great, because as is can be really irritating OrI would like snipers to have a higher headshot multiplier against supers - such that if I dome a: Nova Weeb, Dong Blade, Storm, Pole Dancer, Void Blades, Goldy, Smash Bro, Hammer Bro, Captain America, they INSTANTLY DROP DEAD! Then I’d have no issues with the state of the crucible & snipers would have their place as a skillful super shutdown.

Agreed. Right now even if you’re a good sniper you are most likely hurting your team as a whole by sniping and not being aggressive with a fusion/shotgun. I see this all the time in the upper comp ranks. Snipers definitely need an ammo buff and either an AA or flinch buff as well. They just don’t feel as crispy as they did in D1. Also hoping that the return of trials can make snipers more relevant.

Even then all that quick/no scooping shit in BO and etc is not as easy as it looks. I rarely use snipers unless it’s for obvious DPS on PvE bosses. Big fat heads on nearly stationary targets is easy. In PvP I’m more likely to be jealous of a player’s sniping abilities instead of getting pissed. Having said that, D2 snipers should have to get three kills with a sidearm to load 1 bullet bullet into their boomstick. :-)

Sniping someone from a distance poses 0 threat to the sniper. You miss a shot but you don't have 3 of the enemy team in your ass with shotguns of their own. Also you can't headglitch with a shotgun

Reduce the flinch, make a way to retrieve ammo from a distance after killing someone with a sniper rifle. A full mag is too much, I’d say 3 at most.

If you buff the flinch resistance on snipes, some people will be unstoppable and as much as I would love to run around sniping everyone and winning every engament, I don’t think it’s the solution. But yes, definitely buff the ammo economy !

1 ReplyWhen you get precision kill on another gurdian isntead of them dropping special on the ground it should be lodaded into your clip or your reserves, that will make snipers a bit more conpetitive while rewarding skilled players
