EDIT: Lol, nvm I got the Luna’s Howl!!!
You know, when I buy a game for $50 let alone another $40 on top of that for dlcs I expect to have a fun experience in all aspects of the game. PvE is bearable, ill give that to Bungie after they screwed up for the first entire year the D2 came out. So at least they fixed that, but the other half of the game is unbearable. And yes i'm talking about match making in the crucible (specifically competitive). Now, when it's a free for all and just for fun and games, I wouldn't care as much for the s****y teammates and extreme separation in skill level between opposing teams. But when the only way to get one of the best legendaries in the game is to get 2100 points in comp (requiring a very high skill level **24/7 at least 3 times a week) it creates a barrier between those who want to invest that much time into the game to get it and those who literally don't have a enough time because of real life things. On top of the amount of skill you need to acquire from repetitive crucible matches (basically taking away all of the fun away from it), absolutely horrible matching making is added on top of the heaping pile of dog s***t (sorry for there language but this is the only way to get across the annoyance i'm undergoing because of this issue) .
What's the issue with matchmaking? hmmmm...
1. The first issue is that there seems to be no rule of matching people with the same skill (or at least level and some sort of experience tracker **glory points) which is resultant in a completely lopsided game. Ultra experienced players vs. let me just say not so experienced players.
2. This goes along with the 1st point, when solo queuing in comp, you would expect to be qued up with other solo players in equal glory level as yourself. But this obviously doesn't matter to Bungie because they've left issue stagnant since launch. I'm literally put up against players that have not forgotten and lunas howl almost every other match. Giving me an absolutely 0% chance of winning.
3. 4 stacks, when I paid $90 for this game and all of this contents, I didn't know I would need to have a whole community of online friends and maintain a relationship with them. This also applies to the raid. And when the majority of the community is either adults or teenagers in their late years, it creates an age segregation. Those who are older have a greater chance of success in the raid and Comp. where most of the end game loot is.
4. When people are selling lunas howl and not forgotten on ebay for $450, I think thats a red flag. It means the weapon is too hard to obtain.
The point i'm trying to get at here is that for those who bought the game and its contents for a premium, grinding for 100s of hours for a dumb gun is ridiculous and is technically a portion of that content that I paid for but cant get because of a skill gap and time played. It's like paying for a cake but having to run a marathon to get it (if you can make it). That's different from paying for a cake but instead riding a jet ski (having fun) to get it. I hope this all made sense and is considered in Bungies decision making process for Competitive Crucible in the future.

1 ReplyHow dare you ask for a good gaming experience with fair matchmaking. You act like you spent money on this game or something. 🤪

5 RepliesCompetitive is working as intended. You in fact DO get matched against similarly ranked players MOST OF THE TIME. Sure there will always be some outlier games, but those do not prevent you from increasing your rank long term. If you actually checked the players elos on a third party website you would see this. Just because you got stomped by a team doesnt mean they are that much better. There are a lot of variables that go into the outcome of each match. If you made the same argument against Not forgotten I would have agreed more with you because after 4000+ you face only really good teams. Lunas howl is an absolute joke to get with some effort as long as you are not completely incompetent. Dont expect to jump on solo and just start winning every game. Also, why do you care so much to get a pvp weapon if you dont care to play pvp? Finally, the entire game does NOT need to appeal to you. Especially a game like this where it is clearly split between the casual players who majorly enjoy pve and the competitive players who mainly enjoy pvp. Sure it's not perfect but it is still fun overall which is why we still play.

4 Repliesi like how everyone negatively replying are ignoring 60 % of his argument which was matchmaking not luna's howl

Get farmed

2 RepliesMatchmaking is glory based. Comp matchmaking is fine. You're just bad. Its plain and simple if you can't get the Lunas Howl you don't deserve it.Bungie should make it so everyone can get it.
-
1 ReplyYou grinded legend rank last season. Playing against anyone in comp. This season you get matched with people around your rank. Making it more of a competitive game mode. Hence the name. If you want the gun bad enough you’ll grind for it. If not there is always next season. Fun is working my ass off for a great gun or armor piece then finally getting it. You want freebies? Then comp isn’t for you.
-
1 ReplyMaybe competitive isn’t for you. I’ll probably never get Not Forgotten, and that’s okay. I really, really want the weapon, but I understand that it may not be in the cards for me. You don’t see me whining about it.

1 ReplyThings dont come to you. Only with efford can you reach your dreams

It takes quite a while to even gather the people up now 😴

very high is not the word i got lunas and im a slightly above average player sitting at 1.55 quickplay kd and a 1.35 comp kd if u put time into comp instead of doing a raid or other activities a season is more than enough for lunas

3 Replies“24/7 at least 3 days a week”..... I’m guessing your middle school hasn’t gotten to the lesson about what 24/7 stands for. Stopped reading here. Happy thanksgiving
-
What I'm reading is that you think you're entitled to have the gun because you bought the game. That's utterly ridiculous thinking right there.
-
So, you're complaining that you bought a game, but refuse to use functions like clans, that are there for you to use for the co-op aspects of the game (PvP being one aspect)? You have 96 people in your clan. Either use it, or suck it up. Bungie isn't going to hold your hand. Destiny has always been promoted as a co-op game.
-
It's a tough time to be in comp. The earlier days were definitely the better. Before recovs and carries.
-
Hunter main (and only character). Carry on. Nothing to see here.

It's fine

13 RepliesYou aren’t owed anything. The gun isn’t for everyone. Welcome to life.

The sense of entitlement... wow. Be thankful for what you have now, and learn to work for what you want to get in the future. Happy Thanksgiving.

6 Repliestl;dr — I want a reward I have neither the time nor skill to get on my own, so please rewrite the game so it’s easier and fits more in line with my personal play schedule. Love, Blueberry.

1 ReplyYou are complaining about competitive pvp in one of the only shooters on the market with aim assist. Ok......

3 RepliesI wonder if a plausible solution to much of the issues around pvp and pinnacle weapons would be to only allow their use in the area they were earned. Should they be limited to competitive play only? It would keep them from going into quick play and dominating casual players and those without pinnacle weapons. Let the hardcore players play with their earned rewards with others just like them. Is this an agreeable solution?

1 ReplyI think they should bring back Trials, so the real sweaty pvp crowd flock to that on weekends and the normies can run comp while they do that. In addidtion, they need to not bring back Trials boons like ive heard whispers of and instead create 'Comp Boons.' All theyd need to do is be grindy/hard to obtain and prevent you from losing points after a loss. Seriously though, itd inject a little well deserved fun into the comp playlist/remove some of the sweatiness just by halving stress alone. Leave the boons out of Trials, you know, their "skilled endgame PvP." And on top of all this, it super frustrates me that they create chase rewards for other activities, but obly habe the pvp one involve winning or being skilled at all. THATS bullshit to me. If i cant go cheese my way to lunas in a few days as an average player, why is an average gamnit player gonna be able to get the Breackneck with no wins against stacked 4 stacks like mine? Lunas should be attached to heroic rank if all the other "chases" are gonna be a joke

1 ReplyEdited by SpamTheDamage: 11/22/2018 9:38:46 AMThe only thing I mildly agree with is the need for tighter SBMM. When I was in the 1600s, I was getting matched with 2600s. But also, if you buy a car and don’t have a license, do you expect it to come with someone who drives it for you? Or buy a hunting license and expect it to come with a deer?
