Ideas for new Class Ability alternatives.

I had a thought about the Class Abilities that I think most people will agree on: there isn’t a whole lot of variety in the abilities. What I mean by this is that Barricade is Barricade, Dodge is Dodge, and Rift is Rift. But I want to explore something new. I created some alternative Class Abilities that could offer more ways to play as a Class. Titans: Heavy Armor of Light- Titans forge a heavy armor out of Light. Despite the weight, it offers heavy resilience. How it Works- A construct of Light, similar in appearance to the Barricade, encases the Titan in a heavy armor. The armor disables sprinting and Lift, but offers a 75% increase in damage resistance from all sources and reduces knock back effects by 50% until it wears off or if it’s destroyed. Has an additional bonus of increased weapon damage as the armor begins to lose health. It has a base 30 second cool down and a 15 second duration time. Notes- - Doesn’t stack with normal over shields Hunters: Traversal Dash- Hunters use “borrowed” knowledge and techniques from “generous donators” to warp the Light around them, allowing them to dash wherever they wish to travel. How it Works- Unlike the classic Blink, Traversal Dash is more controllable and linear, allowing the Hunter to dash in whichever direction they look for up to 10 meters. As it’s more of a dash than a true teleport, the Hunter using Traversal Dash is more vulnerable to damage than a Warlock using Blink. It has a base 10 second cool down. Notes- - As it’s not a Dodge, Traversal Dash does not cancel aim assist and can’t benefit from any bonuses granted by Dodging, such as the Invisibility from Way of the Trapper. Warlock: Endangering Spell- Warlocks cast a damaging and healing aura around themselves for a short time. How it Works- The auras are 3 times the size of the Warlock. With enemies, it deals damage over time similar to Corrosive Smoke that follows them and spreads to others. With allies, it heals them. It has a base 25 second cool down and has a 15 second duration. Notes- - The aura takes after the current Subclass, meaning depending on which Subclass is being used, the damage dealt will be either Void, Arc, or Solar. - The aura’s healing isn’t as effective as a Rift’s healing, meaning over shields aren’t going to happen. - In PvE, the damaging effects spread up to 10 enemies in total. - In PvP, the damaging effects spread out among up to 3 enemies in total. - Lingering damage effects last for 5 seconds.

    • Cool ideas dude for sure but in all honesty, I get sick of people making out the warlock to be some class healer and team buffer. Some of the most powerful characters in the destiny lore and most notorious warriors of the light have been Warlocks. Not because they sat there buffing their teams but because they used arcane magic and power to desolate their enemies with Fire and Void. Most of the other guardians even feared the Voidwalker or thought their methods were even questionable when it came to how they could wield the light. I'm no team medic, I am a energy absorbing, life stealing, self healing, teleporting enemy slaying demon. If you actually managed to put us down in D1 we would come back to life in a blaze of rage burning anything end everything in sight. Please do a rework on the warlock one with this in mind, would love to hear what you come up with.

      • I don’t really see how the Hunter ability would be useful if it doesn’t process the abilities or break aim assist, but the other ideas are pretty good. Also I don’t think the Titan ability should increase weapon damage.

        • The titan and warlocks have drawbacks while the hunter one is clearly overpowered. No you’re a huntard fanboy. like I said hunters are low risk high reward.

          • Titan one sounds so cool, and I think encapsulates what so many people wanted to feel when they chose Titan.

          • The problems I see instantly after just switching from a Titan main, is the Titan should not have 75% damage reduction, it'd be about or close to the current Armor of Light buff that Ward Of Dawn offers, but its renewable as long as the bubble is up. Secondly, the Warlocks rift can't be 3x the "size" because it would practically spand from the right foot to a corner of a wall say 2 or 3 feet away. This would make dueling Warlocks harder because as long as you're not in the air, you're pretty much screwed. I do like the concepts though but they'd just be wasted potential.

Soo warlocks get a mini Dps aura. Titans become turtles. Hunters get Sasuke’s Rinnegan? sounds about fair.

              • Jesus Christ, this ideas are amazing. Although I think the Warlock one is a bit off the "Class Idea". Maybe some type of Aura that increases overall Weapon Speed alongside Ability recharge rates.

              • Titans: Sonic Boom Fist: Throw a punch that breaks through the sound barrier that both damages and stuns enemies in the waves path. Warlocks: Focus Light: Create a small explosion that knocks back enemies, gives full melee and grenade energy, and empowers all abilities.

                • Maybe not remove sprinting completely, just drastically reduce sprint speed. Other than that i love your ideas :)
