I accidentally deleted my Mod Components.

RoFL Got distracted talking to friend in chat and accidentally pressed delete on my Mod Components... BUT why did it delete all of them at once? For crying out loud, we can't even delete shaders in one go, but other consumables, especially Mod Components are important to all of us? They aren't exactly easy to get hold of.... Really! Now I could live with accidentally deleting one, but all 26 in one go? Maybe Bungie could lock it so you can't accidentally delete them. I hate what happened, and maybe my luck will turn the other way.... Damn RNG 😂

This should probably be kept secret, but here's how to get more quickly. Go into collections, find a PRE-DLC blue gun, aka no Forsaken, Warmind, or Curse of Osiris symbol on the icon (I do auto rifles) that you can reaquire for 3 gunsmith/250 glimmer. Aquire as many as you can fit between your primary and energy slots. Dismantle them for 2 gunsmith/~50 glimmer. You will get Mod Components from them at a good rate. I used this method last night with 200 mod components to start, and ended with a 1 to 9 ratio of components to total dismantles. So total cost per Mod Component fell at 9 gunsmith materials and ~1800 glimmer. It is of course RNG (roll of the dice) propability, so you may get streaks of components or streaks of nothing. You're welcome. Edit: I accidentally a word

    • Wouldn't be so bad if there was actually a way of getting them reliably.

      • If you have an Xbox Elite controller be careful setting it down. Those paddles underneath could wipe out a whole character if you had the cursor over one and toss it to the couch to get a drink or something.

        • Use gunsmith mat to buy the blue Sonata scout rifle. Every 6-9 dismantle you grt a mod component. It's a bit time consuming but I managed to go from 7 to 40 in a few hours.

          • We're really having this discussion about 26 mod components? That's like 2.5 mods from banshee. Don't get me wrong, I've felt the pain of deleting mod components before. Had about a couple hundred eight months or so ago and wanted to see what would happen if I deleted one. Much to my surprise it deleted the whole stack and I screwed myself. But that's more of a word of mouth issue that doesn't really need any formal fix. It takes a long time to delete mod components too, so it's not like they don't give you fair warning that it might not be a great idea

          • You think that's bad. Just before forsaken there was a glitch where if you redeemed crucible/vanguard boons the boons would move to a different slot. So there I was holding square on 9 crucible boons when I looked up at the last second to see myself delete 886 mod components. The following day I almost deleted 800 mw cores. I managed to get the cores on video. Please ignore my awful voice was talking to a friend on mic https://youtu.be/_NDYfX-1di4

          • One does not simply delete mod components. If you can’t hold a conversation while doing something in your inventory that’s a you problem pay attention next time

          • Bungie already went over why we can't delete a whole stack of shaders at once, but I do see your point.
