You know you are sick of it as well. Dupes upon dupes. The same boring armor pieces over and over again. Lackluster perks that make randomization all but pointless. And an infusion system that has essentially made me stop caring about half of the systems in the game.
Funny thing is? There really is no reason for it.
Think about it. Why do we keep getting dupes? Because they did not put year 1 gear in the loot pool. So instead of getting new rolls on gear that we earned, liked, and used. Instead of a large pool of mix and match looks, we are shuffled into using the same 3-4 sets, getting the same shit for pretty much every activity.
Why do perks suck? Because there isn't enough variety, and so few of them have enough impact as to be worth using over the top tier. Mods are few and far between in terms of acquisition. And masterworking rarely seems worth even the effort of pushing the button, even if you have all of the materials to do so.
Infusion? Why bother most of the time? It is likely you will get an on level dupe in the next reset, so what incentive is there to upgrade one of the few sets we have available for year 2? Weapons? Again, with the way things stand, certain guns stand out, so why waste the materials on an unknown? All the new system has done is reduce the pool of useful gear down even further.
Why? We know year one gear CAN be in the loot pool. We now have reason to travel to old destinations, do bounties, finish challenges, etc. Why limit the loot pool?
To force people into using "new" gear? OK, maybe, but why? What is the point of collecting gear that becomes obsolete with every passing update? Anyone still rocking that Solstice Armor? You know, the armor you spent hours grinding for? With the chroma? And the differing looks? Seems silly now, doesn't it?
What about your EP gear? Looked cool, right? Too bad it got left behind.
I could see if there was a refresh of gear when the expansion started. If every activity and destination got new gear. But they didn't?
Why?
Imagine your weekly rewards. Your drops. If ALL gear was in the loot pool. And you could farm specific locations for the gear you wanted. You want Io gear? If Prime engrams were tied to where you got them. Weekly powerful rewards were tied to the activity AND the relevant location. How many Tangled Web sets have you dismantled? Scatterhorn?
Think about that. And think about all of the old gear you have in your collection or vault. Seems like a waste, doesn't it? Braytech gear, you still rocking it without random perks? Uriels? Remember how good it was?
Anyone else tired of getting way more armor than weapons for Gambit? Crucible? Daily story?
I know I am.
Food for thought.

Completed all of the challenges on my hunter and couldn't get the chest piece I'm missing. Idk why I'd need 3 helmets, 3 cloaks and 2 pairs of boots but apparently his is how it goes around here.

Edited by Pamzillah: 11/30/2018 3:39:47 AMI'm honestly glad it's not just me mad about this year 1 loot business. The bungie community is so good but we get treated like blam! by them. It's terrible. I'm starting to regret even buying forsaken

Man I've been grinding dreaming city, and gambit on each character since forsaken came out for weapons or anything good every time it's amour wit the worse perks or the same one weapon over and over wit perks that suck and shouldn't even be in the game so tired of it I might delete the game

At least the gear in D1 could still be relevant with newer updates. Prime example were the crota gear. It looked pretty cool for all classes, had specific functions or the raid, and other functions for PvP or other PvE events. Even VoG had relevant stuff at the end of D1. A big contributing factor to me leaving was how they obliterated past years gear. Like why? It made all the time and headache I spent putting up with bs for nothing and with how awful RNG is for me, I ended up uninstalling. I'm not gonna waste my time grinding my ass off to be 5 months behind in light from everyone else waiting for weapons to drop that'll be nerfed to hell when I get them. The broken PvP, toxicity of the forums and LFG, and overall eltiest culture of D2 pushed me away.

2 RepliesI'd guess I've dismantled 300+ scatterhorn armor pieces. I don't even bother to look at the perks any more, just dismantle immediately unless i can infuse it into something else.

1 ReplyIf you goal in life to to what we call rinse & repeat then this is the game for you. I have tried to get over the dupes , the grind with no results but I think what did it for me to do 19 clear of LAST WISH RAID to get nothing but shit drops , then to see someone get the 1000 voices on there second clear. Done and over done with this game. At least not playing the game now , I get to see how so many people are not enjoying the game as well plus feel the same way that some one at Bungie has NO idea on what players are looking for, Look the game is free on PC since they have failed to make the numbers on the sales. Nothing is going to change , just pure luck on getting drops or paying to play

2 RepliesAccording to leaks, we will get new vendors for all weapons, even old ones. And I think it will be with random perks. Maybe same thing will happen with armor?

Pretty much on point.

Expect this to continue in D3. Same broken engine. Watch.
