They are in a galaxy far, far away. Of course they exist, they just haven’t explored the universe thoroughly enough to find the Traveller/Guardians

I actually like this point a lot, what do you think Jedis/force users/ members of the dark side would make of guardians/fallen/taken/hive/cabal

It would just divide them even more. Cause there isn’t only the races or classes, but there would also be the choice between light and dark
