Graviton Lance Catalyst - Still impossible to get?
So, as everyone knows it was through faction rallies. Which are still gone and season 4 is almost over. How the hell can you get the faction catalysts if faction rallies are gone? Can you guys please confirm if you are moving them to a different activity, or if a reworked faction rally is coming back in Season 5? It's fine if you wanted to hold off on the rallies, but keeping those items locked behind an unbreachable wall just isn't right.
Personally, it seems extremely petty to me to say "Well, people didn't like the faction rallies so we are just pulling them" while not moving those rewards elsewhere. I'd be happy with the same, uninspired faction rally just to get the items I need; it's better than nothing at all, right? I also didn't enjoy the holiday events but I'd happily take them over nothing at all.
Graviton Lance is my go-to PvP gun and it feels very shitty that it's literally impossible for me to get the catalyst for it and Forsaken has been out for months now.
I hope this comes across differently than all the "Nerf Telesto!" etc. posts because this is a 100% factual thing. I'm not claiming something is too good, nor any other opinion. It's factual that I literally have no way of getting the main catalyst I want in the game.

Graviton lance catalyst is USELESS. It only adds some aim assist.

The faction rallies were the thing that drove me out of D2 Y1. It was just so much grinding, and boring grinding as well. I didn't even make it to my first catalyst before I got bored of the game entirely. I'm all for having the catalysts back, but let's not make it such a ridiculous grind to get them. Or at least make the grind entertaining.

4 RepliesI think Bungie regrets catalysts. They were a fair and we'll liked system that had a lot to offer. So naturally Bungie hates them. Exotics were easier to get, but the catalyst was the true reward. It was something deliberate to grind for that brought out the full potential of the weapon. A masterworked exotic should be what's truly rare, not what we have going on now. Anyway, I'm not expecting any catalysts to make any kind bof return any time soon. That would be a positive change, and we can't have those.

D1 players: hey bungie the factions are awesome now, we have exotics to grind for, regular rewards to grind for and some interesting weapons in the pools. D2 bungie: we heard you liked the faction system in d1 a lot? So we removed it entirely!!!! Your welcome everyone.

It wasn't so much that people didn't like factions, it was that when they made the change to include renown it pretty much broke them. and also by forcing you into a single faction for the duration.

1 ReplyYeah I think the whole point of those catalyst was if you want to buff this already beastly weapon, you gotta grind it out in the faction rally. Split it across 3 separate rallies if you must but it's one of those, if you want it, this is how you get it, you better make time for it, and if you were slacking, you're out of luck. It was less to punish you for not doing it but genuinely reward you for sitting down and grinding it out. Who would bother grinding 50 levels of dead orbit tokens if they could just wait and get it from something way less tedious. That being said I'm like 90% sure I read all 3 of those cats will be available threw alternate methods when the black armory drops.
