Yeah I can definitely see them doing that. I’ve actually gotten pretty lucky I play about 3-4 days out of the week I’ve got all but 9 exotics all armor (including all the three characters) and I’m missing 1k voices and queenbreaker. But I always get more exotics on my side characters than I do on my main character. And I got literally 2 in a day from ikora and a lowly strike
