Fallout 76 Tips

Before I start I wanna get some things out: 1. Yes, this game is hot trash. It is probably the most bug-ridden game I have played in almost 2 years. 2. I can still enjoy the game even though it is a dumpster fire; I happen to like the Survival genre and love the Fallout setting. While most people complain that there is nothing to do, I love that it is an open world with the main goal of just exploring and surviving. 3. Despite that, there is no possible way to see this game as anything less than a monumental screw-up by Bethesda (both as a Dev and Pub). So with that being said, if you are just here to shit on the game, don't bother. Trust me, I know what I've gotten myself in to. NOW THAT THE PREAMBLE IS DONE: let's get on to the tips: 1. Stimpacks are rare, hard to come by and expensive; healing salves are not. You can craft one from boiled water, bloodleaf (which grows by the water - just walk up a river while traveling), and soot leaf (the blue flower that grows all over the Forest). 2. Always travel with a Hazmat Suit. Once you find one, keep it on you; you never now when you will need to cross a toxic river, etc. 3. Throwing Knives are a cheap (4 steel scraps per knife), reliable (75 damage) and easy to use weapon early on. They make quick work of most enemies, and are really good for the PvP griefers. You also get XP for crafting them. 4. Don't use the same perks all the time. You should have a set for when you are exploring (stuff that focuses on survival and combat), and a separate set for when you are crafting, trading, etc. Why keep a Charisma point locked up for a trading perk when you aren't trading? 5. Ghouls run at you (very quickly) in a straight line. To avoid being hit, move backward (in a straight line) to avoid their lunge and fire from the hip. That's all I got for now, anyone else playing got any tips? Edit: 6. As Deathwolfclaw666 mentioned, use a build builder to plan your progression: https://nukesdragons.com/fallout76/perks 7. Binoculars are a pretty handy tool. Unless you are running a scoped weapon, they can prove very useful. They are pretty easy to come by and allow you to scout ahead. 8. Not all junk is equal. Taking an item that has a weight of 2 but only breaks down into 2 steel is not as useful as an item with a weight of .2 and breaks down to 2 steel. Learn the "best" junk and keep an eye out for it. Also, there are premium named versions of most junk- I.E. Luxobrew Coffee Pot vs Coffee Pot; these have more junk for the same weight.
