Bestiality is legal in parts of the US.....in fact not that long ago in Louisiana the GOP voted against an anti-beastiality bill.
Some Louisiana state Republicans are pushing back against a measure in the Baton Rouge Legislature to toughen bestiality laws over fears it could lead to the repeal of the state's unconstitutional ban on sodomy. The measure would separate bestiality laws from the sodomy ban in the state's "crime against nature" statute, leading some conservatives to view the law as an attempt to undermine the anti-sodomy measure, The Associated Press reported
Sodomy was forcibly legalized back in 2003. A ban against it is irrelevant.

Senate Bill 236 in Louisiana passed with a 25-10 vote and says people can be arrested for having sex with animals. You might ask why this is a topic in 2018, and the answer is that the state had a law on the books banning "crimes against nature" that was ruled unconstitutional in 2003. That law also outlawed sodomy. Senate Bill 236 also specifies that previously illegal forms of sodomy are no longer against the law in the state, stating that kind of "sexual intercourse between two human beings shall not be deemed as a crime." All 10 senators who voted against the bill were Republicans, and they raised concerns over the specification regarding sodomy laws. It did pass but 10 Republicans voted against it

They were probably opposing the law on principle, because it actively separated bestiality from gay sex, it was effectively legitimizing the latter. Remember, gay sex was not banned in the south by the will of the people. Many people there still oppose it virulently. Bestiality, incest, and homosexuality are listed together in the Bible, and assigned the same penalty. Yes, some Christians have decided that homosexuality is permissible (don't know how they justify that), but many have not, and they vote. By rejecting a bill that effectively declares gay sex legal under state law, basically giving Louisiana's sanction to it, those representatives were making their anti-gay position very clear. I seriously doubt any of them actually condoned sex with animals.

Oops, replace "banned" in my last with LEGALIZED. Stupid smartphone won't let me edit posts.

I'll bet polygamy is on the way, though. Let one minority forcibly redefine marriage, another will follow suit. That's how precedent based law works.

If that's true I'm moving to Canada
