Why are fusion rifles so terrible and inconsistent? They were my favorite weapon type to use in D1 and my go-to for shutting down shotgun apes but now they suck except for telesto and if you're lucky enough to get a god roll erentil fr4. I literally never get killed by any fusions in pvp anymore except telesto. Please buff fusions so we have good options to combat shotguns. Missing my old vortex, thesan, hitchhiker and saladins vigil l!

2 Repliesbuff? terrible?😨 oh god ever heard of Sleeper, Telesto or Main Ingredient
-
I've been saying this since 2.0 dropped. They gutted them save Telesto. High impact went from being a 4 bolt kill to 5 bolt kill and everything else followed suit. This doesn't seem like a whole lot but once you start to factor in the severe damage falloff and missed bolts due to flinch, you're left with the inconsistent state that they are in right now. How bad were they? Bad enough that Bungie buffed their damage 40% for pve and that only made them a viable option. They are just bad right now in Crucible.

So basically, what you’re trying to say is ....
Nerf Fusion Rifles
4 RepliesEw fusion rifles. Who actually enjoys using these weapons 🤢. Get rid of them and grenade launchers and bring back light machine guns
-
I'm so sick of Main Ingredient, I'd rather not go back.
-
9 RepliesDon’t you -blam!-ing say those goddamn words. Have you played Gambit for five minutes? If so you would get use to the nice, bulky front of a sleeper already.
-
2 RepliesTheir spread is RNG because then they would be very hard to counter Fusions spread needs to be tighter however and some fusion rifle archetypes need a bit less damage drop-off.
-
2 RepliesI debate even replying because I don't want to give away the secret, but ***whispers*** Fusion rifles are good. It's called timing and using the weapon in its effective range. Perfect weapon for baiting and shutting down squeaker in the current shotgun meta.

2 RepliesEdited by Riv3rMon5ters: 11/12/2018 2:30:50 PMThis is a bad idea. I’ve been using a legendary fusion rifle the past few days and been doing just as well if not better than I do with a shotgun or sniper. I’m honestly surprised that more people don’t use them because compared to the other special weapons it seems to be much easier to use (yes I’m serious). I think right now they are about perfect it’s just there arent many options as far as legendaries so people arent using them. I feel like any kind of buff would make them OP to be honest. And trust me as a D1 vet you do not want a fusion rifle meta...

I kill players with main ingredient consistently, great shottie counters imo, esp with backup plan and hipfire grip

1 ReplyFusions are strong weapons, but the damage desparity between Telesto and "normal" fusions is what makes the Exotic feel more consistant. Main Ingredient with charge time identical to Telesto deals 8 damage less per bolt-- 9 if you count the +1 from a Telesto direct hit, and again per bolt. If memory serves, there are 6 bolts which would mean 240 potential damage with Main Ingredient, and 294 with Telesto. Whether there are greater or fewer bolts, the damage per bolt results in the need for 5 to hit for a Main Ingredient one blast kill, whereas it's only 4 for Telesto. Combine this with Telesto's seemingly more manageable recoil, and it makes for a far more consistant weapon. Should Telesto get nerfed? I believe not. It's Exotic. Other Fusions need a damage buff to match. Even if Main Ingredient dealt 49 per bolt, this would not dethrone Telesto as an Exotic since it would still have its sticky bolts and the capability of those sweet doubles.

1st nerf: decrease projectile speed 2nd nerf: decreased accuracy 3rd nerf: a little more drastic range falloff That's why. It's quite dumb
-
OK. What's next?
-
I agree, but maybe not a serious buff
-
7 RepliesI would've hoped Merciless could keep up with the EP shotty but oh well. Definite buff is required. Main Ingredient isn't even that viable anymore.
-
Have a god rolled Main Ingredient that’s been working pretty well for me. Range Boost, Range Masterwork, Rangefinder, and Firmly planted
-
9 RepliesIs this a joke? Fusions are amazing right now.. can map players like crazy
-
Edited by sv rocks 3: 11/13/2018 12:15:21 AMOnly if they buff snipers as well.
-
D1 folks would have hung ya and danced with your entrails if this was ever said then. Too many nerfs.....more buffs.
-
Fusions are good the way they are atm. No need for a buff.
-
bout 3 usable fusions in the game, one good one (telesto) im down for a buff
-
1 ReplyReally hoping that next seasons pinnicle crucible weapon is a fusion or scout rifle, imagine a fusion with a Luna tier perk, let’s say it had full auto and was a mid impact fusion but for some bolts missed (50/50 chance also has to have at least one bolt hit a person to avoid grabbing the perk by shooting at nothing) the next shot will receive an increased charge time (based on bolts missed) and will have a chance to receive additional bolts fired at the same time (let’s say it fired eight bolts base but you missed 4 and the perk gave two more that way the second shot would fire ten bolts)
-
it's a solid No from me.
-
I need a serious buff!
-
Nerf fusion rifles and Fighting Lion
-
So nerf fusions?
