King Nate here,
To start off, I’d like to make it clear that I’m a heavy Titan main. I’ll try to keep the bias to a minimum, I just didn’t want to hide that from you all.
Let’s start with Hunters. I haven’t played much on mine since Forsaken, so I won’t have much to say. I’ll just go from my views as a Titan or Warlock.
With the Gunslinger class, the original two trees need something done to make them compare to Blade Barrage. I’ve only seen one or two Golden Guns since Forsaken, and that shows there’s an issue. I’d say the issue is that you actually have to aim your gun, what a novel concept, to get kills. It’s good for skill, if you want more kills, use a more skilled Subclass.
As for Blade Barrage, I think we need to calm down the tracking a bit. Just a bit. You shouldn’t be able to kill everyone on your screen when one person is under you and one person is on the other side of the map. The other Super of this type, Nova Bomb, is closer to where this should be. Blade Barrage is better than Nova Bomb in every way. So again, just calm down the tracking and/or number of projectiles. You could cut the number of projectiles on half while giving them an AoE effect with pretty good blast radius instead of what we have now.
I’ve only seen a couple of Arcstriders period. I don’t exactly know what the issue is, Hunters if you’d leave some feedback in the comments with some ideas that’d be appreciated.
Same for Nightstalker as Arcstrider, I’m not sure what the issue with Tether is especially with the recent buff.
The Spectral Blades need lengthened duration and fixed hit detection. Simple as that.
On Hunters as a whole, Grenades are in a good spot. Hunters are greatly in need of a OHK melee, I would say buff Throwing Knife to be OHK on precision. Just lessen the aim assist a tad bit so we don’t have you running around killing people over and over from across the map.
On to Warlocks. First person is based on the past few days, third person experience from my Titan since September.
Nova Bomb needs a buff. Big one needs increased tracking speed and faster projectiles. Little one needs increased blast radius.
Oh boy, look, it’s Nova Warp. NERF! NERF! NERF! Jk. In all honesty though, Nova Warp is in a pretty OP position right now. A Super shouldn’t have the ability to consistently team-wipe in the hands of your every-day player. If you can hear it being popped, it’s not even worth running, you’re dead. Even if you’re across the map you’re not safe due to the insane duration. It’s just too damn easy to kill a lot of players. First step is to decrease duration. The Super lasts way too long. Next, EITHER decrease blast radius OR remove teleportation. Comparing to Fists, there’s no competition. Fists of Havok has horrible blast radius and no way to catch up to people, so you pop your Super and they just run away. Nova Warp has both large blast radius AND teleportation, making it impossible to escape unless you’re a Blade Barrage Hunter or Nova Bomb. If teleportation is removed and blast radius remains high, there is no need for teleportation because people can still be killed at a sane range. If teleportation remains and blast radius is decreased, one has the ability to bring the opponent back into close range to kill them. I’d like to see Nova Warp turned into a shorter-burst type Super. It may just sound like a lot of nerfing, but this Super needs brought back down to the level of skill and sanity.
I have not seen or used Well in PvP.
Dawnblade seems good.
Stormcaller needs either a decrease in TTK or an increase in range.
Kamehameha should have the ability to look up and down. Lol.
Grenades are good except for Supernova on Nova Warp. Decrease range to about that of a melee. You shouldn’t be able to throw your OHK across the field and kill someone. How about an actual melee instead.
Last but not least, Titans, my main since Destiny 1.
Sunbreaker is in an extremely good spot for PvE, it’s mediocre in PvP. I like throwing Hammers across the map and getting a kill.
Big Hammer either needs a decrease in swing time or increased blast radius and damage.
Missile seems okay. I would like to see an increase in blast radius. I could see the issue with extended duration, you shouldn’t be able to hunt people down across the map.
Fists if Havoc aren’t going to ever be good in their current form. The temporary fix would be increased blast radius or increased sprint speed during the Super. Any time I pop it the opponents can just run away. The only way to get kills is to pop it right on someone’s face.
Sentinel overall is in a good spot, skill is rewarded with a very well rounded Subclass. The tracking on shield is unnecessary, but helpful in some situations. Personally I haven’t seen it’s effects too much yet. Hit detection on melees is pretty bad though, when I hit someone smack in the face and they keep running.
On the whole, Grenades are okay. All of the non-Shoulder Charge melees are weak, but compared to other classes are balanced. Shoulder Charge should remain OHK, but I will agree that when paired with Insurmountable Skullfort is pretty rough. In the future, I’d like to see Shoulder Charge be Striker only, not class-wide.
RIP Nova Warp. I don’t want it nerfed into the ground, just brought back to the land of the skilled and sane. As usual, keep the comments salt free, productive feedback only please.
Edit: I’d just like to share a little of my philosophy on Supers. As for panic Supers, such as Blade Barrage, Nova Bomb, and Missile, I believe that these Supers should be very forgiving and easy to use, but only have the capacity to consistently kill 2-4 players. As for Supers like Arcstrider and Sentinel, I think that they should be a little bit tougher to use, but be rewarded with the capacity to team-wipe in the right hands. Things such as Nova Warp are forgiving AND have the capacity to team-wipe without much skill. Blade Barrage is a panic Super like Nova Bomb, and so the two should be about the same. Blade Barrage is fast and has tracking, Nova Bomb Only has one or the other depending on what tree you choose. Either buff Nova Bomb and Thundercrash, or nerf Blade Barrage. I’d personally prefer the buffs.
