Half of Activision Blizzard's 7 billion+ dollar revenue this year was made from microtransactions.
Blizzard announced that every IP they own has a mobile version in development, with good devs being assigned to their mobile division.
It has been stated that from relatively reliable sources that Destiny 3 will focus on having more immersive RPG elements and a deeper character build system with a PvPvE type mode.
Do you think that D3 can sell enough to meet sales expectations, and if it does, will in-game monetization options be minimalized due to good sales?
What features would Destiny have to have in order for you to buy it?
Are there monetization options that you would be okay with?
Aside from microtransactions as a source of revenue, Activision plans to release more content at more regular intervals. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Will it be like a 30.00 Curse of Osiris-style DLC released once a month? Or will it be a subscription model?
What do you think and what would you he okay with?
Edit: SpongyMallard7 posted a link below, to an article talking about the subject.

Micro transactions have been the thing in recent years, i see it staying pretty much the same weather sales are good or bad. Considering most games also have the "season pass" thing going on i dont see much changing money wise for D3, lets not forget that Foresaken had more sales than the new spiderman game (first month) id say there doing pretty good sale wise lol

2 RepliesWasn't there some article that Bungie received a ton of funding from Chinese company to start different games and ideas. I wouldn't be surprised if Bungie is spreading themselves too thing with Destiny 3 in development, finishing part 2 and starting some unannounced new projects. After D3, most likely they will leave Activision as the contract is up. Maybe MS buys them back or Sony. Who knows.

Edited by omegacon4: 11/10/2018 8:13:00 PMI think this step is necessary to kill off the Destiny franchise once and for all. That way, Activision can refocus its efforts and resources on a game that caters to casual gamers (thereby increasing revenue and profit).

4 RepliesFortnite is making millions of dollars and all they sell is cosmetic stuff

I think Bungle is neck deep in shit and ActiNOvision is shoveling as fast as they can.

“Relatively reliable source” is a joke. He deletes all of the leaks he gets wrong, and even if this leak wasn’t wrong, it was still an early development idea that’s been blown out of proportion thanks to destiny’s scummy over zealous YouTube community.

4 RepliesHonestly, I’ve stopped caring about this game and cannot see that changing ever again. I bought Forsaken but found it incredibly tedious. I imagine there will be some of you who think that because I’ve not reached a high power level that my opinion is mute but, I just got bored. The game feels hollow, a pale imitation of what it wants to be and I for one will not be spending any more money on Bungies products.

If they just expanded Eververse, I would not care, as I don't buy silver. As for the DLC option, I highly doubt they'd be coming monthly, those DLC's take a lot more than a month to make.

3 RepliesI will not ever play a game where I have to pay monthly. I can care less what it is.

10 RepliesI actually am not that worried about d3 or potential micro transactions. Activision / blizzard is taking a beating, losing nearly 4 billion in stock drops due to announcing a mobile diablo game. They are trying to tap into an Asian market but realizing now that will cost them their US/euro market which way out performs the Asia market.
