What would you like to see changed in the future? Bungie Team, I was a Day 1 Destiny player and greatly enjoyed my time there, but staunchly avoided purchasing Destiny 2 after having played the initial Beta and seeing the direction the game was heading. Don't think I was alone in that. Upon learning more about the recent Forsaken release and the planned changes to the game I decided to give Destiny 2 a shot. A "coming home" of sorts. I will genuinely say that I have enjoyed my time thus far, and even though I still have a long way to go I believe the overall experience "feels" like it is in a good place. However, there has been one (and only one) element of the game that I have not enjoyed and, dare I say, even despise. That thing being ........ Competitive Crucible. I thoroughly enjoy me some Crucible, and I certainly put in the time in Destiny 1. I'm no pro, but I'd like to think I'm no pushover either. The base Crucible play in Destiny 2 has been enjoyable, but Competitive has been nothing short of a mind-bendingly frustrating experience. Granted, I have only just gotten into the game and am still catching up on the current state of play, what the preferred/best weapons and loadouts are, etc. Bearing that in mind, the Competitive Crucible mode seems to be skewed toward punishing players vs. rewarding them for time spent. It's not even the actual matches themselves that I find punishing. I'm cognizant that it is in fact Destiny 2's competitive multiplayer mode and therefore one should expect that the matches are in fact "competitive". That part is fun and challenging. What I do find needlessly punishing and incredibly tiresome is the way the mode currently handles the progression. If nothing else, I'm viewing this from a pure time investment standpoint. I think I'd be pretty confident in saying that no one likes the idea of working hard at and putting in the time with something/anything only to be punished for doing so, reaping no progress. You've stated that you do not want progression within the Competitive mode to be like "a second job", and unfortunately that is exactly what it currently feels like: https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/47117 On a personal note, I've been stuck in a vortex swinging back and forth between 1200 and 1700. I think you're alienating a good chunk of your player base that would otherwise be interested in playing Competitive, and that would ultimately make the mode more compelling as a whole. Having the current progression tied solely to wins AND losses is not the right way to go in my personal opinion. My suggestion(s)? Fine. Keep the progression tied to wins ....... and WINS ONLY. Eliminate the loss penalty. You only gain points/progression for a win and that's it. Or, if you find the prospect of having no penalty for losing a match concerning to the structure of the mode, make the point penalty minimal - maybe 1 or 2 points per loss. That way if a player/team experiences a bad string of matches they are not then fighting to regain large amounts of ground that they had previously attained. The current structure of point progression can quickly and easily wipe out entire hours, days, etc. of progress for having an unlucky streak of losses. If viewed as a "risk vs. reward" scenario, it's feels almost entirely risk for little to no reward a good chunk of the time. I think matchmaking tweaks could make a big impact here as well (i.e. solos vs. solos, fireteams vs. fireteams), but that's a whole other subject. But, again, my larger concern here is the time investment. Perhaps I am selfish in saying so, but my gaming time is scarce and precious these days between work, personal obligations, and everyday life. I want to enjoy that time and feel as though I am making progress with that time spent. I'm very much interested in the Competitive Crucible, but its current landscape is (largely) not enjoyable when inputting into the equation of Time vs. Progression. I sincerely do not mean for this to come across as "complaining" and instead hope it reads as constructive criticism that I think resonates with many other players and that many (hopefully) would agree with. If you've read this far, I thank you for doing so. Furthermore, I look forward to your feedback and the input of others on this topic. Best, ll MARK ll

As of yet, they have not. Granted I only posted the original note yesterday (11/7/18), but I would be surprised if they actually did given the number of inquiries that likely cross the community managers' desk in a day. Would be nice to get some direct feedback however seeing as I took the time to write up such a concise note though ;)
