Posted by: Mr Madsen
Posted by: mr ultramar
Posted by: Mr Madsen I am nordic, and the real way to pronounce it is Gung-gnir like in tin, not Gung-gneer.
gun-gin, or gun-gnih?
I wrote wrong, it's Gun first, not U like in gun, but a swedish "U" which doesn't excist in English. Then it's gnir, not gneer. I know how to write it in phonetics, but you're not allowed those characters on B.net.
so it's goon-gner? I'm trying my best to understand

Is it an Acronym or a word? Its in all caps, but then every other helmet would be an acronym too? G.oogoo U.nder N.ipples G.oing N.ow I.n R.est = GUNGNIR? [Edited on 09.27.2010 7:23 AM PDT]
Posted by: SoulReaper9559 Jee-You-Enn-Jee-Enn-Eye-Are I'm pretty sure it's an Acronym rather than a word, I could be mistaken though/
actually, when translated it says "swaying one" which was Odins spear. it was said t would always hit its target which was the inspiration for the spartan laser. another interesting note: the helmet of the same name had one eye/camera much like Odin who had one eye. that ugly ass helmet or what the hell happened to my face [Edited on 09.27.2010 6:50 AM PDT]

It's pronounced: "I'm a firing my Weapon/Anti-Vehicle Model 6 Grindell/Galilean Nonlinear Rifle(abbreviated W/AV M6 G/GNR)" Both the SPARTAN laser and this armor is named for Odin's lance of infinite win. [Edited on 09.27.2010 6:49 AM PDT]

Not an acronym. It's the name of Odin's spear.
-
Gung - Neer
-
I'm just calling it the Jar-Jar Binks helmet.
-
Swede here. It's pronounced like it's spelled. Gung-nir. Well, we say Gungner instead of Gungnir. Odin - Oden. Mjolnir - Mjölner. Loki - Loke etc. [Edited on 09.27.2010 6:44 AM PDT]
-
Norse, I believe, would make it Gung-ner.
