To anyone wondering why FotL ended “early”
It did not. Day light savings time is a thing. Bungie does not change the reset time for the reason of day light savings time. I’m making this post to answer anyone surprised by the “early” reset.

I thought it ended only minutes after release after realising it's a waste of time/poor event.
