Hey!
Me and two of my friends have decided that we'll start playing Destiny 2 together, nobody from our group played Destiny 1/2 before. And I want to know if it matters what classes we'll play in our group because none of us wants to play Titan, cause we don't like his playstyle and supers.
We'll mainly play PvE and maybe some PvP and our group will be composed of 2 Hunters and Warlock or Hunter and 2 Warlocks, will we have any significant problems without Titan?

You don't need a Titan, warlock is a must, but just one. Titans s can be 100% replaced sadly.

Titans and Warlock have the best defensive compatibility, while hunters and Warlock have the best offensive compatibility. It all depends on how you like to play. If you like getting those kills, run Hunter. If you're support, run Warlock. I've played titan like twice so I don't have a full grasp on that playstyle.

Edited by Lunakai: 11/8/2018 9:11:35 AMClassic kindergaurdians: immediately pick hunter. Each class is fun and powerful in their own ways. But at the end of the day it’s a shooter game and all classes shoot the same. If you plan on maining PvE as a squad, I def recommend you have a titan and warlock. Hunters are next to useless in pve honestly. Much more of a pvp class.

Get lunafactions and make the hunter run shattering strike and you can replace the Titan.

Titans provide excellent buffs for damage as well as consistent ad clear with hammers and fist of panic. Not to mention bubble etc so yeah you may be missing out.

In a way, yes, but at the same time, no. Destiny can be done solo using any class or subclass. You can find ways to make your classes work well with other classes such as: Nightstalker + Any Add Clearing Supers (Stormcaller, Arcstrider, Blade Barrage, Golden Gun, etc.) You are not at a disadvantage at all. If you want any subclass build ideas I can give you some of my knowledge/expertise if needed. Good day Guardian.

Honestly, the beauty of Destiny is that you can succeed with most every class composition. If you’re only doing three man activities, not having a Titan won’t be a problem at all. The only truly difficult three-man activity is the nightfall, anyways, and you’ll have Nighstalkers and Arcstriders and Dawnblades on your side which will work just fine.

Seeing as you just started, the supers you will have are limited. If you run two hunters and a warlock, you will have one dawnblade and two arcstaffs. Arcstrider is pretty good for clearing enemies dawnbalde is semi-good for range. You will have one healing rift and if both hunters die, the warlock should be able to revive them easily. If you had a titan, one warlock, and a hunter, You'd be covering every aspect of the game. You don't currently like the playstyle most likely because you just started using the Titan. The more you play with a class the more you'll like it. I'd suggest using each class rather than two of one and one of the other.

Edited by ExOdUsBlAdE: 11/6/2018 2:57:45 PMAt that light level? No. Play whatever you like

You don't need to have all three in your group, so play the other two. When your first characters are high enough power level that you feel comfortable, that's when you make more characters. When the second character is close to your first character's power level, you make your third and final character. Just don't burn yourself out and remember to have fun If you play Warlock: Go for Attunement of Grace 1st, Attunement of Control 2nd, and Attunement of Fission last. For Hunters: Way of a Thousand Cuts 1st, Way of the Current 2nd, and Way of the Wraith last. Have fun!

You'll be fine. The only time it'll really matter is Nightfall and Raid. There it'll only matter what Subclass you each run in conjunction with the modifiers (nightfall) and rolls+team (raid). Coordinate and and dominate. As an example, my brother and I can easily complete Nightfalls with just the two of us - he a Hunter and I a Warlock. In the latest example: Solar Singe, Grenadier. He ran "Knifeslinger," I ran Stormcaller (landfall). We wrecked it. Granted, we weren't going for any 100k score, but we completed without difficulty and without a Titan.

It depends on how cool you want your fireteam to look.

Part of the fun of Destiny, in my opinion, is having the three different classes to play. I would suggest, at least eventually, playing all three characters, unlocking all their supers and skill cluster perks, and playing around with them all until you find what you like, personally and as a team. If you plan on raiding or looking for raid groups, you may find that some groups will sometimes request you to play as a certain class with a specific subclass for certain perks or abilities to make the encounter easier. Although this is not always absolutely necessary, it can make you more marketable as a potential fireteam member if you are able to adapt and fill the role of whatever is needed or requested. Ultimately, do what you want and play how you want to play. But, experiencing all the subclasses on all the character classes is part of the fun for me personally.

It doesn't really matter. The class system in Destiny isn't as stratified as it is in other RPGs, there isn't a dedicated Tank, DPS, Healer type of thing. Feel free to play as whatever classes each person wants to play as. Not only that, but you can create up to three characters, so worst case scenario someone creates a Titan as their alt.
-
Yes, it matters a lot. Make sure you all 3 play warlock. It's the only class in the game so it's your only choice.
-
The only thing I can think that you may miss is the titans hammer strike which gives a short but significant damage boost against bosses. Maybe you should draw straws for who will be titan. I main a titan and I find it a very good offensive class in pve. Not as good as a hunter generally in pvp, but there are some good builds for pvp if you have the right guns and armour.
-
I main hunter and have to emit that currently titans are the master class so yeah unless you guys get very good with your chosen classes

Edited by w3rdblader: 11/5/2018 2:09:19 PMTitans give you a 50% damage bonus and the ability to keep firing without having to reload. Until you've amassed a decent amount of exotics, the titan is super useful in a group. Little tip, don't make a main, just run multiple toons. The leveling process is a lot faster when you run 3 and it cuts down on the garbage time that you will find yourself in whenever your done with the challenges for the week.
