Hunters are lack luster in comparison to Warlocks and Titans.

I don't really want to start an argument with this post, rather just point out some of the current "problems" with Hunters sub-classes when compared to Warlocks and Titans. Most of what I'll go over will be in regards to PvP activities, but I feel they would be welcome changes to all game play. Lets start with the Way of the Wraith (Spectral Blades) sub-class. I really like the idea behind the sub-class and feel it fits Hunters perfectly, that said, it falls horribly short when it comes to PvP. The major problem being the super itself. The concept for the super is great but its got two problems. The first problem, you may be invisible, but you can still be seen quite easily, and you don't have the same survive-ability as other roaming supers. The second, larger problem, is that whenever you melee someone, the game loves to make your melee lunge at air where an enemy was, or stop you before your reach the enemy also causing you to strike the air in front of them. Basically, its unreliable. It's also incredibly frustrating when you can't catch up to enemies because they are Titan / Warlock skating away and you just don't have the speed to get to them. My proposed "fix" for this super would be to give the players a 20-30% run speed buff when invisible, and make they melee attack more similar to that of the Arcstrider where you hit a cone in front of you. A Hunter is supposed to be quick and deadly, like an assassin especially with regards to the Spectral Blades sub-class. These changes I feel would be inline with their persona. I would also welcome a fix for the current sub-class perk where when you get a head-shot while crouched you get invisibility. This perk is "broken" in that if you use a pulse rifle or any other auto / burst fire weapon, when you get the kill, you usually have 1 additional shot go off that causes the stealth to instantly go away. Like for instance you finish someone with the first or second bullet of any pulse rifle, the 3rd bullet will immediately remove your invisibility making it effectively useless. Second, lets talk Way of a Thousand Cuts (Blade Barrage). I think the super itself is fine, but the melee for it is in a bad place. The fan of knives you throw does very little damage in PvP even if you are skilled enough to compensate for the fan effect and are able to stack all 3 blades on one target, its still not a kill. Let me also remind you, this melee gets no form of target assist so in PvP its quite difficult to use effectively. The skill gap to use such a melee should reward the player more. If memory serves, 49 damage per knife to the head, that would mean even if by some fluke you manage to land all 3 knives on the head, its still not a 1 shot even against someone with 0 resilience. Another massive problem with this melee ability is that the game can't make up its mind on how far you actually need to be from the target before you change from your lunge melee to the throwing knife melee. Or in PvE, if there is a target closer to you, but off to the side, you'll usually turn and lunge stab them rather than throw the knives as you intended. For this sub-class I think ether buffing the damage to the throwing knives in PvP would help(remember, Titans 1 hit shoulder charge, I don't think a buff is really unreasonable). If that is out of the question for whatever reason, a utility styled fix could be to keep the damage where it is, but make the knives bounce off walls in the same way a Titan shield does, where after the first bounce it bounces in the direction of the nearest enemy. Now obviously you wouldn't want this being over powered, so a single bounce would suffice. Also I don't know how you might go about this, but anything you could do to fix the melee lunge vs actually using your melee class ability "bug" that makes it all too easy to activate an unintended version of your melee attack on an unintended target. (On keyboard / Mouse the answer would be simply to add a second button for the class ability vs the standard melee, not sure how you would fix this on console controller though.) Lastly Way of the Current (Whirling Guard) sub-class. Honestly I'm pretty happy with where this one is. Now all of these are obviously my opinion, I just feel something needs to change when you compare Hunters to Warlocks and Titans. Warlocks which bring strong roaming supers, Nova Warp and Dawn Blade, a better than Blade Barrage Chaos Reach when used with geomags, and while the Well super isn't amazing in PvP, its a must have in all PvE endgame content. Titans which have an "Aimbot" shield throw while also being able to put up a wall to protect teammates and buff their damage, 1 shot shoulder charge on solar and arc sub-classes, exotics like "One-Eyed Mask"(wall hacks, outgoing damage buff, incoming damage resist, and full heal + over-shield on kill..... wtf), or "An Insurmountable Skullfort"(lets give the guys that can 1 shot melee, infinite melee usage...), also pretty much any Titan super is a solid "Roaming Super" choice. I don't want this to sound like a rant, I just simply added the last bit to help put into perspective where Hunters sit versus the the other classes. Any constructive feedback is welcome. Edit: To everyone saying Hunters dominate, it's only because they are the most popular class, many people pick them because they look cool, or some other trivial reason. They are the slowest class, there is no debating this, it's a fact. They are outclassed by other classes that have utility skills, just because you see a lot of them in PvP means NOTHING. I'm done responding because clearly people are close minded and stubborn here. And for anyone who says I don't know what I'm talking about, I've gotten thousands of crucible kills on all classes and have 600 light on all classes, and completed last wish on all classes many times. I've also got over 1000 hours played time across my characters. I'm not trying to brag, but simple show that I've probably put more time into the game than the vast majority of the people responding here. Anyway whatever I don't -blam!-ing care anymore, I'll just quit using Hunter until its on par with Titan or Warlock. I just wanted to help people not turn it this into an uncivilized joke.

  • Doesn't the new Hunter subclass allow you to stay invisible while seeing enemies through walls? Dont they have an exotic that marks enemies and deals more damage to them ? Dont they have an exotic that gives them 2 throwing knives paired with a subclass that recharges them faster when the burning enemies die? Dont they have a chest piece that extends the life of arcstrider super? Do they have a pair of boots that fully recharge super when multiple enemies are tethered? Dont they have a new exotic that recharges super with every blade barrage kill? Dont they have a chest piece that allows spectral blade kills to turn you invisible and recharges super Are they super nimble and hard to track when they are bouncing and rolling everywhere? Now i do agree the spectral blade need better hit detection, but have you every thrown a Sentinel shield ? Also aren't hunter the most used PVP class? Also what is the most annoying thing to face when mayhem is live? Nightstalkers and soon to be blade barrages
