So this has been a repeated theme in my last 10+ matches in the format.
Tip: Don't win the first round. Your GOING to lose that second and possibly the third round. Winning that first round makes the second harder on you. Stronger foes and such BUT also the other team, at least in my EXP, has consistently gotten their primeval out first and done WAY more dps it.
( To dispell the Round 1 myth: IF you lose round 1 and save your supers, then in round 2 you have less resistance on the battlefield. Winning round 1 spawns in more powerful Adds in round2. A smart team will again save their supers as best they can because in round 3, the tiebreaker, they can as a team, slam the primeval with overwhelming force. It's not so much a myth as a tactical mindset. )
Tip: Drop motes in sets of 5! It not a lot, but hoarding the motes and then getting killed and losing 10 to 20 sets the entire team back! Instead, dropping 5 at a time gives a smaller lose margin and drops a blocker. While small blockers might not seem like much they are harder to take out than anything else. Orge's deal a lot of dps but have too large a hitbox and thus when swarmed get taken out faster. Instead, taken phalanx, with their shields and smaller head hitbox, make a much harder foe to take out even when its 2v1. Plus they can protect and push people back, potentially killing them by the impact. PLUS its easier to drop a lot of smaller blockers then one big blocker.
Tipo: SOMEONE NEEDS TO SNIPE! Support players are heavily underrated in Gambit. I always play a bow sniper and pick weaker targets off out of there range. I might not drop a lot of motes BUT I get the most kills and make it so my teammates can drop those motes without getting pinned down and more often then not I end up picking off invaders long before they can pick my teammates off or at the very least I stall them out at they panic trying to see where their being attacked from OR I weaken them enough that my teammates can kill them without much issue.
