All of the Vex we see in-game are models designed for mining, their weapons' effectiveness is incidental to that. Will we ever see what a dedicated Vex combat platform looks like?

1 ReplyGorgons are combat frames, they have no other purpose than killing.

28 Replies<We know they exist, but for some reason haven't been deployed. Warrior Vex were deployed in the Vex Incursion on Oryx's Throne, where they were able to contend with 3 Ascendant Hive, one of them Crota.>

Heres an old idea.

If all the vex frames we’ve seen are mostly for construction and mining, perhaps they are sending supplies or running tests for the Combat Frames. What if there is a twist where the frames of the vex that we’ve fought are just that? Construction workers tying to support the combat frames. Perhaps it’ll be like a Forerunner/Flood kind of battle. The combat frames are fighting some war that’s outside of our solar system. That’s my two cents though, doubt it’ll be true :/

I thought Protheon was built for combat, that’s why the Red Legion wanted him.

When the Vex have to shoot at you, they've either made a mistake, or their desperate. Their goal is to manipulate time and events in such a way that the need to fight you never arises. The reason that they are hear and having to fight against us is because the powers that the Light gives us prevent the Vex from accurately predicting our actions. So they have to fight us, because they have no other option but to do so.

15 RepliesHow do we know they’re primarily mining models?

1 ReplyThey’ve probably come to the conclusion that we aren’t a threat to their grand plan for the universe, or even more likely that everything we do against them is actually essential for their grand plan, and so don’t feel any need to put up anything but the most trivial opposition to us.

4 RepliesWhen a threat that clearly can not be thwarted by use of other means but combat. When a race that crosses time and assimilates worlds into itself, manipulates events and uses others to kill things they can not. When Vex must go to war, then we are likely to see combat models. In essence, perhaps it is like with the Hive whom the vex so closely relate to in many ways. All we have been fighting are the vex that center around the simulations. The Infinite Forest that connects them across time. The army of Panoptes. Panoptes was a strategist, an analyser, the most central core of Vex information gathering. A seeker of knowledge... just... like.... Oryx. Now Panoptes is destroyed just as Oryx is dead. The knowledgeable ones are gone. Should they still mirror the hive, the next Mind will surface in response. They need their strategy, the path forward. Atheon was to ensure the plan with the Vault, a mere tool. The restorative mind, a weaver was a tool of greater minds to bring back the irreplaceable. Not an information gatherer nor a warrior. But the strategists have been broken and the weavers can not be guaranteed safety. If Vex were to wage war on us, it would NEED to be soon. Then the combat models would arrive.
