Making raid exotics RNG based is not a good thing. I cannot tell you how many times I've opened 5 chests at the end, and never received the weapon. Legend of Acrius was tied to a questline that you get by completing the raid, which means you had a guaranteed way of getting it, as long as you completed the quest. This was a big problem in D1 with Vex Mythoclast and Necrochasm, as they were also tied to RNG drops. I know plenty of friends who did Vault of Glass and Crota's end every week in D1 and never obtained those exotics. Outbreak prime was tied to a questline that you get from the raid as well, but its different from Acrius in that you needed to do special things in Wrath of the Machine. When you make a raid exotic RNG based, it becomes a problem. Some people will get it on their first try, while others may take months until they get it. Not to mention to get the rivensbane seal it REQUIRES you to have One Thousand Voices. This is an unfair system, and unless wish 15 gives you the exotic, they need to implement a system that either increases your chance with each chest you open, or a guaranteed way to get it.

I calculate it to be a 1 in 13 chance, i got it on my tenth final chest, i figure that anyone playing the raid should have it by their 26th completion, how many times have you done the raid?
-
4 RepliesNo it doesn't. It's a raid exotic just like in D1.
-
It’s kind of crappy watching the one guy that had no clue what he was doing and his first ever completion get it lol I’d agree it should be a quest exotic, but the reason Bungie did it this way is to keep you coming back into the raid.
-
A quest line would be fine.
-
1 ReplyI believe it should questline Exotic. Watching too many noobs get it.
-
No no it doesn’t I did he raid a few times and finally got it . So I’m good . It’s top tier and should be difficult to get . Period
-
4 RepliesEdited by Draw, O Coward!: 11/4/2018 4:38:38 AMYou'll get it eventually dont give up. But this should stay the way it is to keep its exclusivity. I still dont have it btw. We need a hard mode to get 6 tries a week.
-
I can tell you you’ve opened 5 chests at the end 5 times max
i think
-
5 RepliesI agree 100%. RNG is bullshit for end game exotics. Now double the fact that if you have 2 of the same class, you don’t even get a key for the second character. So just because I won’t play a warlock, I only get 2 RNG chances at this weapon. First off, One Thousand Voices is locked behind the raid. That’s fine. You have to complete the raid to get it. However, it doesn’t need to be luck of the 16 possible chests plus RNG to boot. It should have been like Touch of Malice.

This whole game is going to be obsolete soon. Jus like d1. You have to give them credit for not locking Whisper behind the raid. They earned my respect for that.

Vex Mythoclast remembers
-
5 RepliesIt’s the best gun in the game so it’s behind the endgame, no participation trophies here, you gotta put in the work like everybody else
-
Come back and complain to me once you've gotten a 2nd and 3rd 1k voices from public events.
-
Youre hilarious
-
It really isn’t that great
-
Lol you’ve only done it 12 times, why are you complaining? Acrius was way too easy to get, this is how a raid exotic should be gotten.
-
2 RepliesSo.....you want a participation trophy. This is supposed to be an fps with mmorpg mechanics. Guess what, in MMO based games, if you want a special weapon, you need to farm the thing that drops it and depending on how rare and powerful it is, you could have to kill that thing or complete that activity dozens of times before getting it. That's what makes the community varied, those that put in the work get the best stuff, those that dont are progress slower. Destiny needs to stop with these special snowflake participation trophy bullshit items. You want to good stuff? Work for it until you get it and stop whining.
-
I mean, thats what you expect from a loot based game, rng Your argument is whining for Bungie to hand it out like candy, devaluing it right after everyone complained exotics had no value because EVERYONE had them. Now its rare to get, its a trophy and a cool gun so tough luck, you gotta grind it out like everyone else. Dont like RNG too bad dont play a loot based game
-
12 Repliesi disagree. My most memorable moment in d1 was sending 12 hours in the hard raid.. and having vex drop for me and no one else on that team. They all raged. I just laughed. Then they nerfd it so hard the very next day. v.v
-
6 RepliesMaybe if you do riven legit you might get a chance at getting it? Cluster bombs is not cool
-
5 RepliesNo, it actually makes playing the raid worthwhile. Kind of like how destiny 1 used to be. Everyone remember the time raids were good? Lol
-
1 ReplyRng burned me out after hitting 600, so I do not care anymore about raid, exotics, nerfs, buffs. Thank you bungo.
-
Please no, I want something in this game to actually chase after that isn’t tied to a quest or doesn’t have escalating odds, I want that feeling of getting my gally to drop to exist in this game and right now voices is the only weapon.
-
7 RepliesExotic weapons tied to random boss drops? I can understand that. I played world of warcraft for 10 years. Sooo. Either deal with the fact you may never get it and stop crying. Or stop playing. You know what made the hand of ragnoros so legendary? Cause not only was it based on rng and a pain in the ass quest. Only 1 player had it on my server when it was revelent. And it was a gnome warrior... lol But i digress. Not everything that is worth having is free kiddo. But i forget you are like the rest... entitled brats who scream... i want it now!
-
2 RepliesTL:DR.... basically you want voices just for completing the raid. Then probably complain there's no reason to run the raid again.
-
1 ReplyI was lucky enough to get it on my 4th completion. You've completed the raid 12 times, that's not too crazy of a number.
