Anybody else fed up with scout rifles and auto rifles apparently 1 shotting you because of hosts poor connection
-
8 RepliesThe thing is... you need more bandwidth and fps in peer 2 peer games. Lower the fps, lower the tickrate so certain shots don't register. Peer to peer means your machine has to talk to all 7 or 11 people simultaneously and constantly. 50mbps connection is kind of the minimum. So all in all it's the wild west of crap connections... not counting region switching.

3 RepliesWelcome to P2P servers. Or 'Hybrid' as Bungo likes to say. I say they're sh*te.
-
1 ReplyWhat exactly are you going to do about it once you have that information ?
-
4 RepliesI swear some of these people are eating a big mac while playing on that crispy WiFi oh and after they win they eat there fries.

1 Reply200 mb internet, open NAT, $300 router, cable modem with 24 channels, properly set QoS, buffer bloat rank A, wired CAT 6A connection, jitter is great, and I play mostly when no one is here. PvP is still a terrible experience with getting shot around corners, bullets not registering, melee making connection noise but not counting, and the magic switch that gets flipped mid match where the enemy team becomes PvP gods without changing tactics. PvE is getting worse with teleporting enemies, sudden damage spikes from enemies, health bars dropping then refilling, Olympic runner vandals, melee not counting but noise is there. It almost seems like damage referee is on in PvE.

Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'uarc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, get dedicated servers, and break their grip on Freehold.
-
Bungie's theory, you won't see connection speeds therefore you won't complain
-
Agreed. I want it back like in D1.
-
2 RepliesI agree. They want us to report it. But the human mind is a tricky thing. I won't report unless it obvious. Having connections shown would help me report it.
-
NO! The laggers need protection. They are people too too know?
-
13 RepliesThey can't do that in D2. To explain. For Destiny 1, Bungie repurposed their Halo 3 / Reach 2008/2010 networking code for PvP. So one console was picked as host and the connection quality you saw was your ping time to the host. The host lags and everyone's ping time, except them goes redbar. In D2, there is no host, it's peer to peer. So the only thing they could show was the average ping time to everyone else in the game, and that number is the same for everyone. So it makes no sense to show it at all it's just the average of everyone and will be the same for everyone.

I hate teams mainly. Play against solo's or 2's with no probs, then start with the stacks - Lagville.

3 Replieshad a match earlier against a fourstack with an asian symbol character for their clan name that teleported every time you shot them damage would register then they would disappear and be 20 yard off around a corner. i shouldnt be getting matched with players from around the world regions should be locked to those areas only even if using a vpn service and going outside your region should be bannable banning needs to be harsher as well two times in three matches i was three against four cause someone would leave
-
I want Bungie to show nat type and ping.
-
There's a guy in my clan who uses satellite internet. His ping to the microsoft server is always over 350 ms. The guy rarely gets killed playing crucible. The only bad part about it is he gets disconnected sometimes when we do raids and stuff. The game shouldn't allow him in PVP matches at all. It's detrimental to the other 11 people in the lobby.
-
Connection on the game is bad in general. They should boot people who lag too much like on R6
-
Why? by removing it they fixed all the bad connections :D
-
But I like my dial up Internet connection! I like to run through the walls and shoot you from behind and you'll realize that 3 seconds later! What else should I say? I'm a troll I like to be this way because Bungie won't carry at all!
-
3 Replies"Show internet connections" No. Even Bungie knew that the connection bars didn't work, but for some reason they still decided to go with it.
The connection bars we show in-game are designed to give you a moment-to-moment idea of how good or bad each player's connection is to all other players in the game (not to our servers). There are many factors that go into determining your color on the coded scale. Even if your own connection is the best it can be, terrible performance elsewhere on the Internet can still compromise your experience. When you see a red or yellow bar next to somebody’s name, it indicates problems with their average connection to other players (and usually to you, too).
https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/44307/7_This-Week-At-Bungie--02042016 Since the game uses P2P, there's no telling where the bad connection is coming from since the bar indicates your connection to that player. And since it's P2P, that doesn't narrow down the cause at all. Seeing xXpwnslayerXx with a red bar doesn't necessarily mean he has a bad connection. It could mean that you have a bad connection, the host has a bad connection, or that any other player in the game is using their microwave... Connection bars in a P2P game are an awful idea which only contribute to the toxicity in this community.

I just got 1 shotted by a damn pellet gun. Wtf bungie this is bull crap, and i have the best internet in the world. I just want to take this time to give a shout out to walmart, but whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

9 RepliesYou can see your own, and thats all thats needed.
-
It won’t do anything though
-
-
2 RepliesDoes it matter if you can see it or not? The only times it would matter is if they’re red barring but if that’s the case you can clearly see them lagging in the match. Who cares if someone is yellow/green barring it makes no difference. Would you leave every match the moment you see a red bar?
-
2 RepliesNo, dude, they can't. They don't want you to send reports on four brazilian guys you just met in competitive.
-
2 RepliesAnd it’s not like we can see their connection bars either since bungie removed it
