Apparently pretty hard.
Word of advice—respect the dead, don’t use a fake rabbi to try and promote your religion.
Try respecting the dead, not that hard.
Inb4 all the people complaining about Democrats wanting gun control. Different things entirely. One is trying to prevent this tragedy from occurring and the other is bull-shit Christianity.
Learn the difference.

Let me get this straight.... Y'all are upset because a guy who is against the Jewish faith (Messianic Judaism) said a prayer at a ceremony about the synagogue shooting. *Takes bong rip* As another user pointed out; They (Messianic Jews) consider themselves to be "Completed Jews", with all other Jews being hellbound incomplete Jews. Others merely do it as a ploy to lure in Jews who are disconnected from the Jewish community, and try to convert them. Which, to me, this situation would be no different than a person from any religion praying for the soul of an atheist. Since the religious person thinks the atheist is wrong, thinks that they will go to hell if not "saved", and thinks they should try to convert the atheist. The prayer would go against the atheists religious beliefs just as this prayer went against the Jewish one. *Takes another bong rip* Or what about the people that think I will go to hell for being Buddhist and idolizing a false deity and not their god? Which is what Messianic Judaism does against the Jewish faith. Which is why anyone could be upset about this. So, I ask all y'all that are butthurt about this even though it is/has been prevalent for years......why?

32 RepliesIbn4 Op doesn't understand Christianity and why people bring it up in times of tragedy

Hard to get the dance steps right when you can't hear the music. Hard to respect the dead, when you didn't respect them when they were alive. Hard to care for other people's feeling in time of tragedy, when you don't care about them on any other day. There is very little that is "Christ-like" in what our Vice President considers Christianity.

8 RepliesI cant believe this actually happened. Some people in this forum are struggling with the signifance of this incident. A user on reddit really puts the whole thing into context. From a comment by u/MetalusVerne:
No, no, trust me. This guy wasn't just a fake Rabbi; he was a 'Messianic Jew'. The entire Jewish faith (or at least, everyone who knows about it) is offended, as are plenty of Jews not of the Jewish faith. To give context, "Messianic Judaism" is not, in any way, a form of Judaism. What it is is a form of Evangelical Christianity which appropriates various surface aspects of Judaism (dress, prayers, holidays, cultural practices), often mangling them horribly, and mixes them with their form of Christianity. They completely disregard the original meaning of the practices, and instead twist them to give them a meaning of "Jesus". Reactions from Jews range from 'offput' through 'disturbed and offended' to 'burning rage'. Some of them do this because they think that to truly accept Jesus, one must also adopt Judaism. They consider themselves to be "Completed Jews", with all other Jews being hellbound incomplete Jews. Others merely do it as a ploy to lure in Jews who are disconnected from the Jewish community, and try to convert them. I'm a mod for /r/Judaism. Ordinarily, getting the entire subreddit to agree on something is a near-impossible task, and since Trump was elected, things have only gotten angrier. However, this managed to unite us. Not everyone blames Pence (a lot of our right-wing users put the blame on one of the other Republican candidates at the rally), but we're all offended.
PS: he was a defrocked Messianic Rabbi, meaning he didnt even have the official authority to act on behalf of his religion.

9 RepliesWhat the problem is? Did they denounced the Jewish faith during their prayer?
