Everything was pitch black. Suddenly, a flash of Light. He was Alive. “Guardian?” A voice said. “Eyes up Guardian.” His head aching, the newly Risen Exo stood up and looked around. He appeared to be inside an tall building, and looking over the edge he could see that a fall from it would be very fatal. “I can’t believe it,” the voice continued, “you’re alive!” The Exo looked behind him. The voice came from a small, floating being, it’s shell twisting in small erratic movements on its axis. “It appears so. Who are you?” He said, in a gruff, mechanical voice. “I’m a ghost,” it replied. “Actually now I’m your ghost, and you...have been dead for a very long time. Would you mind staying still for a moment?” The little ghost vanished, but in his head he could hear the voice speaking. “Don’t worry, I’m just inside you.” It said. “We need to go, now!” The Exo looked down from the towering structure, and started to descend the stairways. “You know,” the Ghost said, “I don’t think I can stand just calling you ‘guardian’ all the time. You have a name?” “I...don’t know.” The tall Exo said. “That’s alright. How about I call you Giant?” “I like the sound of that. How about I call you Echo?” “I’d like that.” Giant exited the building, a surveyed the large expanse before them, a ruined city of an age long before. “Let’s go.” Said Echo. “We have a long journey before us.” “Where to?” “We need to head to the city, we have friends there.” Giant heard a war cry in the distance. “Fallen!” Echo exclaimed. “Move!” Giant ran like his life depended on it.
