This shit is ridiculous, it’d be nice to play a game without have people who use this as a career path and try to advertise and try to get you to pay them so you can win, thats not how gaming is supposed to work.

Ban you for paying to play destiny!

3 RepliesEdited by JJIBIIIS: 10/31/2018 4:06:55 AMReport the advertisement direct to Microsoft or PSN under phishing, they’re removed promptly! You can’t get them banned for advertising but you can get the adverts removed, I have noticed some GT not post more than the few times I’ve seen, so that may mean repeat offenders get banned? All this boils down to is morals, moral fibre and a game that’s so broken l, some players feel locked out due to the many time gates and lack off avenues within the game to get things done, having only lfg makes this problem ten times worse! Would getting someone else to pass your driving test be accepted as a norm, no, other end off the spectrum maybe but that’s exactly my point, where do you draw the line in a competitive environment...... with virtual goods with a monetary value... hmmmm kids these days are looking to get burned further down the line and all from not thinking about the situation at hand and it’s many variables! Bend the rules, eventually you get burned! There are those that don’t and those that bend the rules, if you find this amusing or think this post sucks then which category do you fall under; a nice person with good moral fibre or a manipulator and underhand cheat? Simple!!!

6 RepliesLosses shouldn’t make you lose rank points, you wanna get rid of paid carries then start with that.

1 ReplyWow. Reading the posts there are a lot of people who support paid carries. Quite surprising considering how many “don’t give things out unless people earn it” posts there are, and don’t forget the “casuals have ruined this game!” posts. Absolutely ridiculous. Why would players think it’s ok to pay for someone to play the game for you, yet they don’t want it easy enough for the player who only has a couple of hours each night? Does anyone else see how crazy this is? Maybe they all think they will secretly be good enough to carry people and make a living doing it?

Edited by l HyperLethal l: 11/1/2018 5:32:45 PMI see people in the comments trying to place blame on you for being petty; but you'd see a lot less if you didn't contribute to the controversy. If you don't want to be brought up for breaking ToS, don't break ToS.

I mean, you’re getting into some pretty subjective and philosophical territory. Opportunity “isn’t supposed to” work this way? It’s exactly how it works. You can’t ban players for exploiting somebody’s vain desire for a digital asset. You can’t ban players for being opportunists. “if it’s in the game. It’s in the game” right EA? The same is true for the opposite. If it’s outside the game. It’s outside. It’s none of anybody’s business. Literally. It’s literally somebody else’s business. As lame as it may be to face a potato who’s bests you in a 1v1 with a paid Luna’s Howl, there’s no real way to lay down hard evidence that one player’s Luna is hard earned while another player’s Luna is purchased. Not to mention how to begin to make a list of players that require pay? Outside of carriers who do it live on twitch, how do you begin to gather names? Bungie has no right to the details of your personal transactions. This falls closer to the FBI than Bungie. So say you were able to gather a solid list. In fact, everyone just admitted to it. You would have to prove in a court of law that the plaintiff( those offended by the act of paid carries) suffered as a result. Now you’re on the same ground as drugs and why the FBI or the DEA jumps in with both feet. Because drugs kill people. They also get people killed. One could also argue that Luna’s Howl gets people killed...at the pixel level. It’s a video game. Nobody will ever care about this enough to enact a law.

I dont think they'd do that. I'm pretty sure they run at least a couple of the too tier recovery and carrying sites seeing as to how they love doing cash grabs. I could be wrong but even if I am. The alternative is a group of stacked randoms running nova warp with sin, light reactor, 5 super mods and telestos. So I'm fine with beating a recovs face into the dirt in comp over that.

2 RepliesNothing personal, but if they won't remove cores from the infusion system, what makes you think they will give up free advertisement?

8 RepliesEdited by SirJackofCamelt: 11/1/2018 5:19:32 AMnope, it's always been in games literally since like WoW; I have a friend who back in high school use to make tons of characters in WoW and do coke just to level them in at a ridiculous rate and sell off the character. point being if someone is dedicated and make a living that way, let them it's their choice to do so, get over it or go play single player games.

2 RepliesIf they did that bungie would be out of a job lol

1 ReplySounds like somebody is suffering from buyer’s remorse.

What negative, real life consequences come from this? I got that YOU have an ideal, but do you have some sort of objective, non-anecdotal evidence that paid carries are hurting things?
-
Trials ruined Destiny. I been saying this for years. Bungie leaves it because streamers promote the game and streamers like it because they get paid to get people weapons. Trials and now competitive have always had game breaking weapons that ruin the game for 99.999999% of players
-
Would that include me? As I had to get my son to do a flawless run for me, and well.... it cost me a game he really wanted.

1 ReplyEdited by WiggletonBandit: 10/30/2018 3:14:18 PMI've been saying this since it became a thing in D1 with Trials. There's nothing that can be done though. So long as there is a demand and a market price can be agreed upon, a service will arise to fill that demand. Simple economics. There's no way for Bungie to prove an account recovery occurred. Even if someone's KDA suddenly jumps several points, or they track login IP, that's all speculative. It could just as easily be someone's brother, friend, etc. logging in to play on their console which isn't provable either, and isn't explicitly against the ToS. The only thing they could do is make all quest's more like the Broadsword quest which is based on time investment and not on skill, but everytime someone suggests this the try-hards all riot and cry "participation trophy". What kills me is the hypocrisy of this same group who will gladly carry a no-skill player to the Luna, but cries when anyone suggest giving them a path to get it on their own. So they don't really care about the rewards being for skilled players only, they just want to be the arbiter of who gets to have those rewards, and the judge of who they deem worthy. It's an ego thing more than anything, from people who are trying to derive value and achievement from a game that for all intents and purposes is nothing more than entertainment and a leisure activity for most of us. I really hope they go the Broadsword route in Season 5, and move the luna to a Valor Grind quest, and keep Not Forgotten as the exclusive pinnacle weapon.

they are free to do it if they wish to

I say make yo money boo-boo... Cause I give no phucks what they do... Why yo face all squished up, step in some doo-doo? All these kids crying, boo-hoo... The forums are full of em, so true...

2 RepliesIt's interesting watching some get upset about a post like this. I wonder how many of them actually do paid carries.

13 RepliesEdited by BarretOblivion: 10/31/2018 12:31:05 AMQuestion... how? On this website Bungie can ban those that accounts are tied to those who post. Ebay? Bungie has no authority there. Its kinda hard to get hard proof in game without high level investigations and resources to catch them as long as they don't blab on the forums/reddit or to Bungie directly. That is the crux of the issue. In order for Bungie to BAN account carries they need hard evidence to do it. Sony/Xbox/Blizzard can't help them say "hey the players on those accounts aren't the real person" because they don't know. They put in the password info for the account so for all they know that is the real person playing the game. This isn't a rare issue, its a thing in MMOs and loot based games as well. Its nearly impossible to nail someone for account recoveries unless you catch them blabbering about it in chat. Anyways to my point: This is why you DON'T tie gear towards a competitive playlist, you tie COSMETIC ITEMS TO IT. People are far less likely to pay for account recoveries over gear that looks cool but isn't gameplay altering. This creates fewer people willing to pay=less demand meaning fewer people offering the services. If anything weapons tied to competitive and trials should just be pure RNG drops for participating in those playlists to promote more population playing them.

Don’t knock someone else’s hustle cause you’re not good enough. Neither am I, but if I was good enough to get paid to play destiny I would be doing it.
-
4 RepliesGet over it and cry me a river. Never paid for carries but I couldn’t care less if someone paid another person to do it.
-
6 RepliesYou know what even more ridiculous? People whining about how others spend money.
-
1 ReplyShut up meg...
-
Why? How does it affect you?
-
1 ReplyI order for them to do this they would have to ban all their streamers too, which we know would never happen. You could argue it's a violation of terms of service, but that would also include all of the streamers who do weapon/armor reviews using other people's accounts because they can't get it on their own yet. Bungie doesn't ban people -- especially during a period of diminishing player base.

1 ReplyIf you want paid carries gone, but you're okay with Eververse Then you seriously need to rethink your motives.
