TLDR: I just want some tips on what I can do to easier get to rank 3. I’m on the last step of Luna’s and I’ve been at this for two months. If you wanted to address specific stuff, read on below.
Alright, well instead of complaining like I really want to, I figured I’d just ask for advice/help instead. The meta is the way it is and I don’t think it’s going to change soon, let alone for my lowly wishes.
I also recognize that I am not the best player. Last time I checked, I have a 0.83 KD and I forgot my KDA. However, this quest has allowed me to practice a lot more and I have improved. With that said, I have been stuck between anywhere from 400-900 Glory for the past two months. It’s extremely frustrating.
Yes I already know there’s nothing I can do about people leaving, apes, Telesto, the shotgun meta and whatever else people complain about.
Every time I’ve thrown a fire team together off LFG I have actually done much much worse then I would if I actually just went in solo.
I feel like I’m out of options. Thanks for reading and any help would be obliged.

- Prioritizes objectives & heavy ammo over chasing kills - Learn how to shotgun. - Always play in a team of 4, no exceptions. Try to get to know ur teams playstyle and build some chemistry - If someone is consistently slacking, kick them out and find someone who is willing to put in work. 1.2kd+ overall - Switch host if you match too many difficult teams - Stop playing if you get frustrated and try later Do all these things and you will have your Luna very soon :) good luck

1 ReplyGo into private matches to learn names of map locations, good for when you play in a team. That can help with map knowledge and then you can also practice jumps and how to travel around the map. Playing in the mornings can be easier than in the evenings. Using meta weapons and a strong offensive super definitely helps. If you cant find good people in LFG to play with, its probably because their skill level is better than yours (no offense meant), I also run into this issue. I have an approximate 1.2 KD and 1.7 KDA. I try to use solo matchmaking help me find friends. If you play a match and you like one or two people you played with, send them a "GG" good game, and ask if they would like to party up and play together. Why I think this is a good idea, Bungie matched you up with them, they probably have a similar skill level and are in a similar spot in grinding glory. Learn strategies for "Countdown", usually kill an enemy and rush the survivors. Don't arm the bomb unless you kill one of theirs first. I like solar grenade and sunbreakers arms for warlock. Arm the bomb and toss that grenade on the bomb if enemies are close, they cant disarm without dying first. Practice in Rumble or QP new weapons and supers.

Just chip away at it instead of trying to sweat long sessions of Comp. If you get a win streak keep going and if you're getting close to negative points for the day then stop playing.

Winning.

1 ReplyGo play quick play. If you notice a few losses in a row there, jump into comp and get your win. Don't play more than 1 comp match. Go back to quick play and repeat

I have a 0.7 and I’m fabled I just tried my luck with people asking for specific kid and luckily most were pretty chill and I could pull my weight and usually got in the top 2 for the team but it has taken a while

8 RepliesPending on the game mode and map: Survival - team shoot and stick close to your team. RUN THE MOMENT YOUR TEAM GETS HEAVILY PUSHED!! Countdown - PLAY THE OBJ at all cost!! defending = find the time to peek and flank, be patient and stick with your team. attacking = be slow and know the hot spots of the maps that the enemy will most likely come from. On all the countdown maps there is always 2/3 entries know them. The bomb must go off so stay alive as long as possible. Dont challenge or peek the enemy at all let them make the first move and react quickly. Control - PLAY THE OBJ!! BE PATIENT AND LET THEM COME TO YOU!! Learn how to anchor the strong respawn point and if your blueburries arnt the smartest Clash - be aggressive. Dont huddle together, and keep moving. The more that you can keep split spawning the enemies the easier it will be to constantly wipe them all. in conclusion: Control = OBJ NOT CLASH Clash = BE AGGRESSIVE NOT CONTROL Survival = PASSIVE AGRRESSIVE / KNOW THE SPAWN POINTS / KEEP THEM SPLIT SPAWNED Countdown = PATIENTS AND KNOWING THE HOT SPOTS/LANES **extra** Make reading the radar become second nature Play to your class abilities rather than your weapons. Always have a shotty in your loadout Best of luck

I think one of the mistakes people make is trying to do all the hand cannon requirements first when hand cannons aren't necessarily their strongest weapon. I did the reverse and got to 2100 using loadouts that were the best for the situation. The only bad thing is that now I'm pretty much screwing over every team I'm on because all I care about is precision final blows and I could care less if we win. But anyway. You can't really complain about losing if you are more worried about getting the other quest requirements done first.

Edited by Bore: 10/30/2018 2:34:45 PMPlay comp solo to begin with and then find a team that you like. I run my matches with my clan but I ran solo until 1600 points

Win enough games to get the amount of score required :) Someone had to

Tag me tomorrow if I forget to respond. I ran entirely solo for mine

the only thing i can say ( im on last step as well stuck at around 1200 glory and a 1.3 k/d but only been at it for about two weeks)is take your time in a match dont try to rush and solo stuff stick with your teams and learn the maps and where to expect flanks from i find if im patient and dont try so hard to get the kills and i focus more on surviving i do better but i can only do so much solo queueing i cant carry my teams yes you see lots of telesto users as well as shotguns those are the ones to rely on one hit mechanics i find that using a decent sidearm makes them switch up their playstyle cause they can be burned down pretty fast i try to play the long game myself personally but most maps dont allow for that so just try to learn where people like to camp and what works best for you

Complete the initial steps, then grind for level. Once you hit a losing streak (3x in a row) TAKE A BREAK. Don't let yourself get overly frustrated, it will mess with your game play.
