Only problem: from my understanding, the fallen would wipe out all of humanity with near zero problems if not for guardians. So you can't have marines as grunt/cannon fodder. Despite the grimoire telling us about battles like twilight gap, gameplay has shown us that a team of 6 can easily take over a planet.
So it would only really work if it was just the alien races against each other

Guys.... in this RTS the guardians are the bad guys. we play as the hopelessly disadvantaged Cabal. Devastated by the immortal guardians of an omnipotent god. we rose up for freedom. but the undying elites in their walled off ivory city swatted us down as if we were flys. now we are hunted. we throw up resistance but they play and toy with us. They dance as we cut them down with our bolters. the same guardian comes back moments later just to run by us as we shoot at them.

What kind of shit RTS game only lets you play as one of the races? Everyone I've ever played has let you play as each race, including the one that would be consider the bad guys of the campaign
-
my point is you wouldn't want to play as the guardians. it would be all the other races against each other and the point is to activate a beacon and guardians come down and blow everything up =P

That’s mainly for balancing purposes, not lore purposes. It’s like why a Mantis is weaker than a wraith, or a Marine Squad is able to take on 2 grunt squads or even brute Grenadiers :/

It definitely seems like there is a tier system to guardians that they just haven't told us about and we are from a different model type or something...

Right?

Edited by WiErDScIeNcE11: 10/29/2018 5:07:27 AMYou see that’s mainly our Guardian(s) doing the heavy lifting, just use NPC Guardians like the team that went into the Archaeology on titan and got turn into crystals or the thousands that were murdered on the moon. Keep NPCs like Cayde, Shaxx, even the Drifter as elite troops.
