Game songs great for other games:

I was thinking of making a thread about the song Mourning Sound by Grizzly Bear over in #Offtopic. I then realized how little I want to visit #Offtopic. So I’ve decided to make a music thread in #Gaming, but with a twist, as we have plenty of favorite game sountracks/songs already. It’s been a while since we’ve discussed how a game’s soundtrack can work well with other games. Personally, I’ve felt TWEWY’s music works well for me during matches of Dirty Bomb. I’ve also got plans to see if song linked here (other than Mourning Sound) can work for No Man’s Sky. How about you folks? Anyone else here take one soundtrack and use it for a different game? I’ll also take ideas you have for this kind of subject.

    • I like listening to fast paced fight music when I play any games. I could be sailing in Sea of Thieves while listening to Triforce Majeure.

    • I like the idea of taking Doom’s soundtrack into a completely innocent game, like Ori and the Blind Forest. ”Rip and tear, until the tree is gone”

      • Got a better answer this time! I think a lot of the songs from Gravity Rush 2 would work for a Kirby game. Gravity Rush 2 (the song) could easily be slipped into a Kirby Air Ride track, and I could easily see Night Gale taking place during any sort of Meta Knight chase scene, either the one in Super Star, or a completely new one with him flying in & out of the foreground ans background breaking the scenery Kirby’s climbing. Finally, this one’s title is a little spoilery.
Brahman’s Angels could be a good final boss theme. Ir doesn’t really ring true with any existing bosses, but with bosses like 02, and Void Termina, a boss matcbing this is only one step away.
• At first I was thinking of swapping TWEWY & Splatoon music.. But the more I thought about it, erasing Noise to Shark Bytes, or splatting Squids to Hybrid would just be weird.. The soundtrack from Hollow Knight: Godmaster (like this one) could easily be slipped into Dark Souls. I feel like The Lives We Tried to Reclaim from Skullgirls would work great for the sadder moments in TWEWY. And the announcer from Cuphead needs to be in Skullgirls, does that count? :p

          • I very rarely listen to video game music outside of the respective game, but whenever a game doesn't have any music at a given moment, I often have Ridley's theme stuck in my head. Does that count?
