How the -blam!- can I even do a 1v4 in god damn competitive?

Competitive is fine for me even if I solo queue

I agree with you.

Comp is so -blam!-ing unfair. Though I'm complaining I still will complain about this, the -blam!-ing matchmaking is complete dogshit, as I've gotten into matches where I only have 1 or no teammates because the other people leave too early to -blam!- me over. I could be a complete casual and say that maybe give the people who don't have a full team in these 2v4s a buff or give the full team a debuff. The buff could be like decreased times for the supers and increased weapon damage, or have the debuff on the team where their mobility is decreased significantly, or they don't get special ammo at all. Maybe the extra jumps could be disabled for the full team if it's a 1v4. All I'm saying is just give the 1 person or the duo a -blam!-ing advantage instead of having the other team bash your head into the ground. Too many people cheese the -blam!- out of the game and depend on shooting with their teammates for a free kill. Also it really isn't "skill" based matchmaking. Edit: SBMM is a necessity in a competitive environment, why "have" it in place when you don't get matched with people your skill level? I don't get it. It's so easy to program in too, as the system in place is just ranking up, and I think there should be a separate rank to show off your skills, like in Rainbow Six Siege on how they handle it, or CS:GO where the competitive is actually matched with your skill level. But adding that could potentially have people "smurfing", where they take a brand new account and have their fun with it as they pair up with low ranks instead of the frustrating high ranks. It's just disappointing that a triple a game like this has gone to shit because of Activision and every other triple a title has gone to shit with lack luster content.

  • I don’t see how SBMM can work in competitive. I mean the whole point to that playlist is winning matches and ranking up. And what rank you can reach is determined by your skill in relation to the entire player base. If your good you’ll progress and keep on progressing until you start going against players that are better and eventually you’ll plateau with a 50/50 win/loss ratio and you won’t progress any further. If your matches are all based on skill based match making from the beginning you aren’t finding out how good you are in relation to the entire player base but just those that Bungie think are similar in skill. Rank would become meaningless, in fact you would find you wouldn’t be able to rank up because everyone would have a 50/50 win loss. Match making has got to work off rank where your going against whoever is in the same rank as you. Then if your skilled enough you will progress to however good you actually are. I think the trouble now is there’s not enough people in that play list to match people of similar ranks so uneven matches get made. To solve this I think they need more loot specific to this play list. Right now they only really have the Luna and Not Forgotten. They need end of game loot drops with random rolled armour and weapons to get people and keep people playing.
