Europa, or Enceladus? Time to clarify + speculation.

Background Due to some recent supposed leaks and in-game hints, I have lately been seeing a lot of confusion between two icy moons in our solar system and the Destiny universe: Europa and Enceladus. To start, let’s clarify which is which. Europa is the smallest of the four Galilean moons of the planet Jupiter, and the sixth largest in the solar system. It has a water-ice crust defined by reddish marks where mineral content is highest. Due to the smooth nature of the surface and water-vapor plumes detected emitting from the moon’s surface, scientists have reasons to believe Europa has a liquid ocean underneath its surface, heated by tidal flexing. These oceans have a possibility to harbor extraterrestrial life, with the presence of liquid water, minerals, and energy in the form of heat. In Destiny, (as stated by Destinypedia), the moon is thought to be a Vex controlled planet. Europa housed a now abandoned Human colony before the Collapse. One of the Nine’s legends leads us to believe Europa could be a location of their origination, and Brother Vance claims Osiris met with the Nine on Europa. Europa: https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/system/content_pages/main_images/176_PIA19048.jpg Now on to Enceladus. Enceladus is the sixth-largest moon of Saturn, one tenth the size of Titan for perspective. It is characterized by its reflective, white surface, made up of clean ice. Just like Europa, Enceladus has water-ice jets fueled by a liquid interior. Enceladus is geologically active, and has tectonics, similar to Earth. Instead of magma and rock, Enceladus has water and ice. Because of cryovolcanoes, some newer areas of the moon are smooth, while others are older and cratered. In Destiny, again thanks to Destinypedia, Enceladus is thought to be the home of Exo creation, and the possible location of the Deep Stone Crypt. Enceladus: http://www.spaceflightinsider.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Saturn-Moon-Enceladus-photo-credit-NASA-JPL-posted-on-SpaceFlight-Insider.jpg Leaks and Hints The confusion is mainly coming from two sites, a supposed leak by AnonTheNine on Reddit, and Cayde’s “It’s on Enceladus” from the Ace in the Hole mission. Due to what Cayde said, I’ve seen a lot of people saying that AnonTheNine’s post is referring to Enceladus coming in D3. The picture in AnonTheNine’s post and the picture for Europa in my post are the same, so I can 110% assure you that it’s Europa. That doesn’t mean Enceladus is out of the question for the future though, if Bungie hid a message for it, they obviously have plans for it. Speculation A lore post wouldn’t be a good lore post without some spinfoil, now would it? Let’s start with what we know first. As far as upcoming content goes, we know we have Black Armory in December, Joker’s Wild in spring, and Penumbra in summer. Going along with the Destiny releases schedule since the beginning, this leaves the next big drop for fall 2019. A lot of people say this is D3, but I would say otherwise. This would put D3 at only two years from D2 as opposed to D2’s three years from D1. The “roadmap” cutscene also shows the Dreadnaught as one of the major locations between D2 Forsaken and the tetrahedral ships, supposedly the Darkness and D3. Now let’s put on those spinfoil hats and get to it! Year 3 of D2 will most likely start in fall 2019 with a Comet style expansion centered around Savathûn and taking place in the areas around Saturn. If we are to get a similar style expansion to Forsaken, I think we could end up with Enceladus, a new area on the Dreadnaught, and an expanded Titan as our new locations, following along with the Tangled Shore/Dreaming City of Forsaken. We could end up with a main campaign that takes place on Enceladus and Titan, centered around Quria with a location subplot focused on Exos and the Deep Stone Crypt. The endgame location would be the Dreadnaught, where we would unlock the secrets and see through the trickery of Savathûn. We would have another Annual Pass, with three endgame DLCs, before D3 comes in fall 2020. According to AnonTheNine, Europa will be one of the locations, and with it will come the Darkness to feast off of the last of the Light. TLDR: Enceladus in Savathûn expansion fall 2019, Europa in D3 fall 2020 if leaks are to be taken seriously. Time to study for that 100 point Biology test tomorrow!
