No it had absolutely nothing to do with that. Bungie wants to pad play time in-between expansion drops. More playtime makes them look better at shareholder meetings. Why do you think DLC drops are more frequent now, leveling is slower and exotics rarer...to keep people playing. There has always been a trend that after an expansion drop people play their asses off for a few weeks, max out everything and move on. Sorry but to think Bungie had any other reason to inflate play times is naive.

  • I hate to tell you, but that's what persistent game companies do: promote continued player engagement. It's kind of their job. You may not like the method they use, but it accomplishes the goal of continued player engagement. All I can say to those that can't stand it...there's a lot of new stuff coming out from other companies right now, I guess. Maybe change gears for a while, and see if things work out better for you later? No point in people being burnt out or pissed about pixels.
