You're supposed to shoot first with a sniper. Flinch could literally stop me from shooting for 3 seconds and I'd snipe fine.never understood why people wanted flinch changed because it's such a pointless mechanic

I’m honestly not sure what I just read, can you clarify?
-
Sniping is about peeking and shooting first. You should never be able to shoot through flinch with out aiming away from the target and the flinch moving the reticle onto them. All reduced flinch will do is make you less completely unable to hit what you're aimed at. Still completely unable to hit what you're aimed at. Snipers are honestly fine but like scout rifles no maps cater to them
-
Still makes no sense to be honest with you. Can you clean up what you are saying because its hard to follow.
-
Here let me clarify my sniper argument, I feel that when I am using snipers, my aim gets flinched too much in my opinion.
-
Sniper flinch doesn't matter youre supposed to shoot first as a sniper. If you don't get that I give up. Don't expect an explanation why because I already did.
-
Ok so basically you are saying that the only way i should play with a sniper is hardscoping random lanes?
-
Yes. That doesn't mean camping one place though. My common routine is let someone damage me act like I'm running away and aim at head level around a corner while I'm showing on far part of radar. They then walk into my reticle. Turn situations into sniper Lanes.
-
Are you on console, because that would never work on competent KBM players on PC.
-
Yes I am, and noone expects a sniper. Don't go starting system wars please
-
I’m just saying, that tactic doesn’t work on PC, trust me. Slide peaking and jump peaking are prevalent parts of the meta currently so holding angles and getting tunnel vision on corners with snipers just isn’t viable on PC. I can’t speak for console which is why I asked, no hate for consoles.
-
So aim at slide level, land a body shot. I run high recovery so I can do this without even using a sniper. People play dumb when they think you're hurt because they need to damage you less.
-
You are honestly acting like I am dumb and don’t know how to snipe at all. The argument that you keep presenting is that there is one linear way to outplay someone with a sniper. People aren’t predictable all the time. Sure you can male assumptions but making the assumption they are going to slide is dumb. They may jump over the scope and since your radar is gone you are essentially gone. It feels like you don’t actually snipe often and don’t fully know what you are talking about. If you aren’t an avid user of a sniper the argument you are making becomes less valid.
-
I snipe plenty it's been my thing since D1 y2. Not claiming to be the best but I do know how it goes. The change I'd like is the radar not coming back immediately
-
Totally agree with you on that point, it would be nice if the radar came back fast like it did in D1, but still that is seperate from the fact of the sniper flinch. It just seems like too much, and maybe its only from pulse rifles. Maybe all of this stems from pulse rifle flinch, but I feel in general that the sniper flinch just needs to be tuned down a little bit. Nothing drastic is necessary but that little bit would make snipers more viable and turn the meta a bit more balanced where less people may be using shotties.
-
Flinch doesn't do anything though. You'll never be able to shoot through it and if you are it's considered overpowered. I'd rather a buff that has an actual effect.
-
You gotta admit though that sniper flinch is a bit much right now...like a stray bullet from across the map knocks my recticle sky high
-
Sure it does, but people see flinch on snipers as an actual thing that matters, so might as well leave it high so us snipers can defend them when they're the meta by saying there's a ton of flinch, right :)
