The entire community other than the "1337" sleeper crutch babies demand a nerf to a BS easy mode cross-map instakill weapon.
Bungie says sure. We'll nerf it. And makes no mention of anything other than changing Sleeper.
"We see that the community is mad about one-shot body shots. How do we fix that?...
Let's randomly make a weapon that already charges in 1/3rd the time, now have enough aim assist to hit the head even when you're aiming for their shins at 300m! Surely they can't complain now, because it's obviously showing a headshot indicator now, even if you aim at the same spot that would usually get a body shot on sleeper! So, by thus making the killfeed show a crosshair, we have effectively nullified all balance issues with Gambit!"
Now literally the only thing you see is 4 stacks of 2-3 Thousand Voices, and 1-2 Queenbreakers.
Not only is Queenbreaker already at least twice as bad as sleeper, but now not EVERYONE can potentially have a counter to it, because you have to have that 0.000000000025% chance to have it drop a forsaken exotic AND have it be the Queenbreaker.
So I honestly believe bungie is trolling the entire playerbase with this BS. There's no way you don't playtest an enhanced fusion rifle target mod with it and realize that it's entirely broken. They honestly must be laughing hysterically at their own incompetence.
I figured Queenbreaker would be the fallback crutch weapon that doesn't need any aiming all the way back when they initially posted the announced sleeper nerf. I didn't realize they would be clueless enough to buff it. I hate to say it, but the sleeper plague was far better than this.
I'm just sitting here, waiting for the good ol' Destiny 1 nerf armageddon on the entire linear fusion and 1000 voices class... Because Bungie sure does love to have their "ever changing meta" as they referenced in that interview back in Destiny 1. Even regular linears feel a bit too strong now, and they don't necessarily deserve a nerf, but since the devs are so good at tuning individual classes in Destiny's history, we can expect them to be useless in about 5 months.
Linears, 1000 voices, heck, ANY heavy, aren't even remotely a problem in normal crucible is the main stupid problem. Probably because they don't get 3 backpacks of ammo for every player on the enemy team. But alas, it's Gambit... It's perfectly tuned to favor the engagement style and distances to the point where the only way to balance it is to limit the ammo (not give 7 instakills per brick would be ya know... a small step in the right direction).
Honestly I wouldn't care if they have a 1-shot instakill weapon, if they could only use it for one invasion. Gambit needs some serious work to be even remotely enjoyable without a 4 stack of tryhards running the most crutch weapons available at the time. Because your odds of success without the cookie cutter singular loadout for Gambit-- when running up against a team that DOES have ONE particular weapon that's brokenly overpowered-- instantly drop to 1/3rd their original chances. I love the concept of the mode, but the execution is perhaps the most pathetically balanced thing since Atheon vs solar grenades.
I would LOVE to be able to play a match without Go Figure | Ikelos | *Insert no-aim required heavy here* , or the edge-lord fringe build of Hand Cannon | Ikelos | *Insert no-aim required heavy here* , but you have to love that BALANCE :D
All I'm saying, can those at the sandbox team perhaps think logically next time we make a balance decision? Instead of taking one bad apple out of the batch.. and throwing a nice big bucket of worms all over the festering bushel of maggot fuel known as Gambit? Thanks.
\Inb4 queenbreaker isn't the next sleeper
Change my mind.
