I've got error code "Bat" two times in a row Competitive today, and have had "Contacting Destiny Servers" from time to time this entire weekend.
Losing ELO-rating on external tracking sites, Glory points and getting suspended is extremely disheartening and irritating. What is the cause of this? My network is fine and I don't have any networking issues in other multiplayer games.
I quickly loose the will to grind for Luna's Howl when I'm getting disconnected (something that is out of my control). Bungie really needs to fix their networking.
Update: Throughout the weekend I've gotten more disconnects. Here's an example
[EDIT[: Added more information below:
So here's some info:
Issue: I get disconnected mid-match or when flying into a match. I've played around I've played around 20-25 games and have been disconnected 5-7 times.
Activity: I first noticed it in Competitive since that's what I played most this weekend, but it has also happened in Quickplay. When I've been disconnected once, I can't play PVE either until I restart Destiny 2.
Frequency: Every 5 or 6 matches or so since this weekend. I have never had this issue with this frequency before.
Are other games affected: No. This only happens in Destiny 2. I have no network issues in other games on my xbox or on my other devices.
Error codes: a smörgåsbord of errors; I've got Bat, Baboon, Elderberry, Fig etc.
Router: ASUS RT-AC68U Nordic - AC1900
Internet speed: 1000/1000 Mbps (this is not a miss spell)
Connection type: CAT6 network cable
Xbox speed: around 500 Mbps
NAT: Open
UPnP: Enabled
Ports: Ports are open
Trouble shooting steps:
- Curse at Destiny for disconnecting me
- Restarting the router
- Restarting the xbox
- Perform network diagnostics: Everything is fine
- Unplugging the power cable to the xbox for 3-5 minutes
- Change Nat from Open to Restriced, and back to Open again
