I think scouts should deal roughly 2/3 the damage a handcannon deals but have 1/3 larger mag and fire rate. That's always how I thought about them. They should AVERAGE 16 rounds on the 150 rpm and go up from there. If a handcannon for the 150 rpm deals about 6-7k in pve, a scout of a similar fire rate should deal 5 - 5.5k. 180:4.5 - 5k 200:4 - 4.5k 260: 3.5 - 4k In the end, the magazine size will allow them to out dps handcannons, but since they have to burn through a larger mag, it takes longer.

No... A Hand cannon should not out damage a rifle.. What your saying applies to constantly damaging a boss.. Something you don’t never do with a primary.. 80% of the time mag size is a non issue.. Very rarely is reloading hindering or a problem.. Hand cannons simply have far to much range.. They’re suppose to be close range weapons..

  • I don't disagree, however, they are more close range oriented weapons. They should ALWAYS out dps long ranged weapons because they have to work in a more limited field, but in pve that doesn't really matter. What I said in my comment, was that scouts should out dps handcannons over the course of the magazine, but not just be outright stronger, otherwise handcannons become worthless. Scouts still need to be buffed, but since this game revolves around more medium to close range play, scouts won't ever really be good unless bungie really wants to.
