Solo Guide to Luna's Howl

This is something I've been meaning to post for a while, but I'm bored, so I figured this would be a good time. I have a 1.3ish KD, and it took me about a few days to get this gun. I got up to about 1500 solo, then I was invited to a team, and we went on a 15 win streak, and we all got the gun. I could have done it solo, but I wanted to be done with the grind. I'll go over different strategies, ideas, and offer other advice from other solo players who have gotten the LH. Sorry for the incoming wall of text. 1) This is the most important tip. DO NOT RAGE!!! EVER!!! If you rage easily, don't. Being angry causes you to make rash decisions and play worse. And be humble. Accept the fact that some players will outplay you and outsmart you. If you say they are lagging, and they are not, then you are refusing to accept the fact that they just simply beat you. Learn from it and move on. Ex. This titan is constantly running around shoulder charging and using shotguns only. You should recognize that he will win most close range fights? How do you solve this? Put on a scout, back pedal with a sidearm. Don't rush, let him come to you if possible. If a hunter is constantly sniping, slide around corners, get close, and don't be in the open. 2) Learn the maps. Learning the maps takes time, but if you know the layout of the map, then you can plan attacks and flanks more easily. It also helps you recognize where the enemy will be coming from. 3) Pay attention to your teammates!! If all your teammates are pushing heavy, go with them. if one teammate goes by himself, go with him. Don't let him die alone :) If they are hanging back at long range, hang back with them. On the other hand, if you see an enemy with a super coming, try and teamshot, if that is not possible, RUN. Let your unfortunate teammates distract him. Don't give him a possible annihilation. If your teammate is rushing into all four of the other players without a super, don't go with him. Wait. If he isn't immediately demolished, and he is actually picking them off, or he has their attention, then go help. But you won't be doing him a favor by rushing blindly with him into a suicide mission. 4) Know your surroundings. Don't go push blindly around corners, and just sprint around. If the entire team is around the corner, and you don't have a super or teammates, get out of there. There is no point in fighting a battle that's already lost. 5) Adapt!!! If you are using a shotgun and HC as your loadout, and you get put on the map vostok, convergence, or other long range maps. Switch your loadout. You will only be able to be effective up close, and the other team will most likely mow you down. Switch to a scout like Jade Rabbit or some pulse rifle. 6) If you are on a win streak, don't stop!! Keep going until you lose, or you decide to get off. If you lose a few matches in a row, don't continue, you'll end up raging (See 1) and lose even more points. Take a break, go play quickplay, strikes, or some other game for a while. Or come back the next day. 7) If you are trying to get a team to get your last 200 points, then start by either lfg, or just play comp, and if you see a good player, invite them to your team. Keep doing that and you'll have a solid team. 8) DO NOT GET COCKY!!! If you are destroying a team, keep in mind that at any point they can get their act together and start demolishing you. And the same goes for you, if you are losing, change it up, use different loadouts or something. It can't get much worse to what do you have to lose? 9) And this is for all you people claiming the games and matchmaking is rigged. The matchmaking is based on your overall glory points as a team. It will team you with other people that are around your glory points. So if you have 2 5500's on a fireteam with 2 0'2, they will match up with people at 2250 points. Fireteams of 4 don't matter. I've gotten most of my wins against 4-stacks (!00% Serious). Its only bad if you let it affect you. Don't give up before the battle even starts. Advice from DaikiShinigami, who also grinded solo and got the LH. 1) Do not stick to the same loadout, some maps and modes require different loadouts. 2) Keep an eye on the objective. 3) Use the first few minutes to learn the playstyle of you enemy. If they only SG rush, then adapt, and counter them. 4) As a solo who is used to running around and doing whatever, but you have to go with your teammates. It is useless to die solo across the map from your team. Good Luck Guardians. This gun is totally worth the time and effort, and I 100% recommend you get it. Also, don't be an idiot like me. DO NOT START GRINDING POINTS TILL YOU REACH THE END OF THE QUEST!! Feel free to offer your advice and I'll add it to the post.
