I haven’t made a lore post in a while so here we go.
——————————————————
There are a few people who think that allying with the spider was a bad idea.
There are people who claim that the fallen deserve no mercy and that they either leave the system or die fighting a losing battle.
And there are people who think that the only way is to kill them all.
I’m here to say that killing them isn’t helping the situation anymore than letting them live.
The Skorn. A faction made up entirely of undead fallen bringing cause chaos and destruction to the reef. The fanatic said it himself. “Every Eliskini dead is another member of the Skorn army.”
Think of the flashpoint not as a game mechanic but as a call to arms. The Spider calls for several guardians to return to the reef to eliminate a Skorn threat. The heroic adventures are a there because one of the barons was revived and we need to put it down once more.
But Derpy! Only the fanatic has the power to revive them and he’s dead. This is true but as we saw with the hollowed lair strike he can revive himself. So now we run into the problem with the fact that the Skorn have a never ending army. Even if we stop killing fallen the army will grow. The fallen are currently at war with hive, cabal, vex, and now the Skorn. But at least we can slow it’s growth.
:D

12 RepliesThe only problem I see with fallen is that we are not killing them hard and fast enough, also the numbers we kill are no high enough.

Kill the Fanatic and burn his body.

2 RepliesTrue. And if the scorn keep reviving themselves they'll eventually all turn into skreebs
-
7 RepliesI'd like to see them rez a fallen with no head
-
2 RepliesI dislike killing the eliksni, they're what we could have (and still could) become; fallen

28 RepliesEdited by N7_Dredgen: 10/17/2018 6:24:38 PMYou make a good point that we are feeding the Skorn army by killing them - but I see this on an even grander scale. To be quite frank the Fallen aren't even bad at the end of the day... they were forced into a situation that caused irreparable damage to their society and way of life. The Traveller is the one who screwed them, and then also lead them to us. Traveller is the real evil but the games forcefeed us the narrative that it's some omnipotent good guy looking out for us all. To be quite frank if we were a remotely advanced society we would reach out to the Fallen and try to find some way to integrate them and recondition them from pirate lifestyle to a more civilized one. There's no reason humanity alone should receive the boons of the Traveler, especially when it essentially flipped the Fallen a middle finger and left them to go extinct. The only reason they even hate us is because of the Traveler. In fact we should all stop and recognize the only reason humanity is experiencing any of this crap from Hive to Fallen to Vex is because the Traveler effectively brought all of its troubles to us. It's the real villain of Destiny.

3 RepliesThere is a limit to their revivals, and its dark ether - and to be precise "ether" From my understanding, Fallen need ether to live and grow. Scorn need it to be revived. Without a supply of ether, it cannot become dark. You get the Fallen off of the ether and end the production, there's no way to make it dark and no way to make a Scorn. Their revivals then become finite. Correct my understanding of Ether if i'm wrong.

My Guardian has no such moral dilemma.

Edited by TheWagn: 10/18/2018 8:41:04 PMPretty sure the whole theme of destiny is that we are an undying army of guardians fighting an undying army of evil. forever. Gotta keep selling those expansions, dawg. The vex are more or less unending. The hive just breed like maggots. The taken seem sort of infinite. The cabal have armies all over the known universe (I think?) The fallen were the only race close to being wiped out I feel like. So now they have scorn. hooray. I'm thinking all the living fallen may become allies at some point down the road in destiny. They just don't have the ability to be an unstoppable force like the other factions.

1 ReplyI'm waiting for the day I can play as a Fallen.
My Hunter is as close as it gets except I have Sleeper on instead of Queenbreaker's Bow at the moment.
5 RepliesHere's a solution. I doubt it will ever happen, but it will be worth a shot. Just ally with the fallen. Yeah, they may be thieves, but if we manage to ally with them, we can eliminate our enemies. There have been reports of nice fallen all throughout the system. Maybe if we can ally with those nice fallen, we can possibly start something huge. Maybe the fallen will be granted the power of light upon death, and they can join our ranks as heroes of the universe, and they can bring their planet back up from the grave, and make amends. It seems like a stretch, but it's dumb enough to work.

1 ReplyI want to be an elinski guardian, with beautiful moth wings and a puffy neck.
-
I wanna have Mithrax as a ally for D3, kinda like the arbiter was to master chief

Edited by Crusader: 10/18/2018 6:31:10 PMso the Skorn is pretty much the Fallens new "Guardians" except they're totally into fratricide. maybe we should learn their secret and say screw the traveler? maybe if we did Cayde-6 could of just self-rezzed :P. This game's lore almost has as many holes in it as the DC universe. (also, doesn't that mean the best way to win is to not play the game?)

9 Replies<Here's the thing about Dark Ether, it seeks out dead bodies... but what if there are no dead bodies? We have a Flood situation when it comes to the Scorn, if you burn the bodies they shouldn't be able to rez. I don't know the power of the Fanatic when it comes to resurrecting himself, but I know the Scorn can at least be prevented from reviving.>

2 RepliesThen we destroy their ether instead... We know what that did to the other houses, it should work on the Skorn, too. It will take a little longer though.
-
1 ReplyIf we join forces with Mithrax and Variks' followers, it will only help both our people Together humanity and Eliksne can face the Darkness side by side, and achieve an even greater Golden age
-
Not counting adventures and missions. The fanatic can revive the machinist who will appear in the heroic public event. Ether ritual

1 ReplyEdited by Fishyb: 10/18/2018 10:13:17 AMBecause bungie would have to A: come up with a coherent game plan for how to integrate it into the story and game going forward. B: Not screw it up a week before launch and keep the story intact and not do a total re write in 5 mins. Bungie seems to struggle with point B. Working with the Spiders forces in open battles was awesome I might add. Really enjoyed those too short lived scenes.

Soooooo......
how about we get Mithrax and Variks to team up with us, and while we are at it remake the Cerberus Vae III strike but instead of Zavala saying "Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold," we get Variks or Mithrax to say it.
5 RepliesIt's not as difficult as you surmise. All we have to do is use fusion rifles and other disintegrating abilities on the Fallen where the Scorn reside. The Scorn can't reassemble dispersed atoms. It's all very managable.

5 RepliesFanatic is a sunsinger confirmed

1 ReplyI’d be willing to consider allying with Mithrax, Variks is too shady for me. I didn’t trust him during house of wolves, and I still don’t trust him.

I have a feeling down the road the fallen with become “allies” Like how the elites (and some grunts and hunters) sided with the humans in Halo. Theres lore too that the Fallen Captain from the methane reactor mission on Titan (in Canon he’s alive whether you kill him or not) and he’s part of a fireteam with a hunter & warlock. Its a start. Out of all the enemies in the game theyre the closest in terms of history with the traveler. Theyre also fighting against the extinction of their kind just as “we” are.
