I'm assuming that you got the Malfeasance quest and you're on the guardian kills part. Congrats. But you're handicapping us by not playing. I've had so many people just sit in spawn, or just next to the portal, literally not even shooting, and only moving once the portal is active. I managed to get the Meatball to spawn, but because we were so behind due to it basically being a 3v4, we weren't able to kill it before the other team killed theirs.
This has totally killed my mood for Gambit (at least for the day). That, and all the Wanted bullet-curve sleeper shots.

It's still happening in 17th March 2021. It's a joke. Guy just sitting at the portal no motes no kills and the funny thing is he gets no guardian kills. When other players who wanted the portal couldn't. It's really pissed me off. Its been 5 matches in a row now with at least one player portal camping. The 5th match I just thought f**k it and quit. I don't know why people are doing it. There isn't any new missions to get invader kills or anything. Its 2am gmt and all the players I'm seeing are mainly Japanese so I don't know if that's it. I don't normally see it anymore since back in season of the drifter. Maybe I'll just go to bed and try later with players in my own timezone. It's sad that people do this and ruin other players experience for thier own selfish needs.

Real men don't stand by Portal hoping to get malfeasance....Real men don't Gambit....Real men

1 ReplyThey could benefit themself and the team if they would shoot enemies and let the team collect the motes. Its a perfectly good strategy to have one or two players not collecting motes anyway. Its ok to stand by the portal, but shoot stuff.
-
5 RepliesYeah I'm on that quest step, the guardian kills will come naturally but the team wipe is the issue for me. Trying to get a team wipe when you blow at pvp means I try to save my super and collect heavy which doesn't really help the team out. I've gotten 3 down many times but never 4. To me some of the Malfeasance steps are counter productive to playing Gambit the right way.

2 RepliesKILL THE GODDAMN ENVOYS BEFORE SHOOTING THE BOSS!!! The blueberries not deposting motes, yes, is supremely irritating. I usually get however many motes are needed and deposit to summon the primeval. What really butters my biscuit is when these ass hats go ham on the boss without killing the envoys. After they're done the bosses health went down a whopping 3mm. Now these idiots are left with trying to kill the boss with hand cannons or machine guns. And, not surprisingly, my team loses the round. Makes it REALLY hard trying to enjoy Gambit when teamed up with morons.

I have seen some people getting slick and they'll be standing there directly in between our teams bank and our invasion portal with like 10+ motes...the portal will be closed and so they wait for other people to drop their motes in first until it gets close to the threshold of opening the portal, and then when no one is near the bank or portal they drop in their motes, thereby controlling exactly when the portal opens and ensuring no one else gets a chance to go in the portal. Bungie implementing quitter penalties didn't really have an impact because instead of quitting people just afk, emote and screw off the whole match because they can't be bothered to actually play gambit they just want to get their weekly match completion challenges done, or do bounties, etc.
-
Been a nuisance ever since.. in iron banner, during the last days people normally try to mop up the open bounties and not giving two fvcks about the objektive or the game in general
-
There’s too many tards playing gambit at this moment so I’m gonna leave that quest till later as the guns shit anyway.
-
1 ReplySo many people are saying it’s Bungie a fault...stop blaming other people for YOU playing selfishly. People are so pathetic these days. It’s always someone else’s fault right? Yeah the quests could be better. You could also not be an ass an help your team AND do the quest. And if you lose it’s always your crappy teammates fault. You played perfectly right? You know it’s possible that the other team was just better. It’s ok if someone is better than you. Someone is also going to be worse than you. That’s ok too. Get off your high horse and Grow up and take some freaking responsibility for what you do.
-
8 RepliesI don't believe it's the players fault. It's the design of the quest. Quest steps need to be created in a way that reinforces the objective of the activity. Example, I need the Light Vs Light achievement, so I NEVER use my super and wait for invaders, hoping they'll use theirs to finally get a kill. Just the way it is unfortunately.
-
I see that a lot!!!
-
3 RepliesSo many of the gambit quests and bounties are backwards to an effective playstyle in gambit.
-
3 RepliesNow, I could be wrong but, yesterday I could have sworn I had a Guardian on my team banking 1 mote at a time...
-
3 RepliesEdited by Zelrons: 10/19/2018 12:55:28 AMI've had a dude literally stand in the ring to try to get the invasion before anyone else. Of course out of all the times he went to the other side he never got a single kill.
-
3 RepliesI wonder if everyone realizes that if you let teammates go over and get kills, it will count towards your progress. I rarely go through the portal. I know it’s not my strong point, I’ll leave it to others that are better at it than me. Surely it’s better to have a little progress than none at all.

*whistles innocently*

5 RepliesAt least they're killing guardians (hopefully). That somewhat helps the team. It's better than the people who actually do play but play extremely stupidly....like running past the bank to collect more motes when if they bank we could have first invasion, or completely ignoring the drifter when he says "YOU HAVE ENOUGH TO SUMMON A PRIMEVAL" ....3 of us sit around the middle waiting for the last guy with 10 motes to bank, instead he runs right past to try to get 15 motes...on his way back the enemy team sends over 3 large blockers and invades, causing the guy with 15 motes to die and lose everything.
-
3 RepliesThe majority of people and players in this game absolutely suck and are the most selfish I’ve ever seen. They need to incentivize team play because I’ve never seen such a bunch of douche bags in my life.
-
I report them for inactivity
-
What is worse is when Drifter says " bank and you'll summon a prime evil".....and the blueberry that has enough motes to summon him just keeps shooting at unnecessary shit...... Bank the damn motes man! We had 74 motes banked and one guy has 8 motes.....just kept running around map shooting things......FFS........
-
I don’t understand that, I mean, people can see when it’s time to invade. I generally gets me da motes then invade when it’s up.
-
That would be Bungie’s fault for creating a quest step that essentially punishes people for team play. i.e. they are delayed from getting their loot. Bungie should have thought it through more thoroughly, but they are the masters of creating broken systems.
-
My main gripe about Gambit is the invader still can locate everyone on the team like the damn radar isn't good enough for you to find people to kill. Or the shields aren't OP enough.
-
Most people still have no idea it takes 25 motes to open the first portal. Yet some people are camping the portal when there are only 7 motes deposited. Like dude fking kill sh*t and collect motes Portal doesn't open until we get 25 motes in the bank, standing around doing nothing is taking us LONGER to get 25 motes in. And when the other team gets their 25 motes in first they invade us and end up killing the moron waiting for us to get our portal open, then he proceeds to rage quit. Yes this has happened in one of my games, or idiots who rage quit the moment they get killed by a red bar losing 6 motes. Like bro WTF are you rage quitting for? You only lost 6 motes and its the start of the game suck it up and get more motes idiot. Then we lose the game because its 3v4 for the rest of the round sometimes match. I have not touched Gambit in 2 weeks because of such things happening. It just turned me off from the gamemode.

Blame the bounties, PvP gamemode have become less about having fun and more baout just play the bounties for a lot of people, due to so many weapons having some or all challenges having something to do with PvP. If the bounties were for things like winning, then people would actually try to do that, but instead they are for getting certain types of kills, so people dont really bother to play the objectives of the game mode, they instead play the objectives of their bounties. This is always the question with PvP stuff, do you want exclusive gear, or do you want people who just actually want to be there playing. So long as you have the exclusive gear you will get a large number of players that have no care to be there, and are just there to complete their bounty and get out. This can be the case for PvE as well, but most of those challenges are about completing an encounter, which doesnt lead to screwing anyone over, and on top of that most PvE things are either ones you have to find a team for, or can do solo with basically no matchmaking. It is an inherent issue with these PvP bounties, and always trying to make them some special extra objective for some exclusive item.
