I may have a solution. In a similar fashion to the weekly bonus points awarded for completing 3 comp games in a single week. There could be a mercy token awarded for playing 3 comp games within the day( 24 hrs from reset to reset ). It can be manually used by the player at will, this would be an option for the match you're surely going to lose. So it could be used to protect a streak. Like when your teamates leave... or get disconnected. It would also automatically be used in the event of a disconnect. In using your mercy token you neither lose or receive points from that match, your current streak is intact. The tokens are not team inclusive, each individual has their own tracking for streaks so the individuals even in a team will need to decide when it's best used, likely everyone at the same time. This would give all active players 1 match/ streak protection every day of play, it expires at reset and therefore needs to be earned again each day. Personally I've not been disconnected once playing comp and I have the luna sitting at just below 3000pts. But this would help those who do struggle with connection and give all players a little tiny bump to points safety once a day.
