OHK melee ability for hunters. From a titan.

All 3 titan subclass melee abilities OHK. (As it should be) Requires charge time from sprinting. I think voidlocks handheld super nova is OHK Requires time to overcharge grenade right? What if hunters had a “dodge counter” perk for those throwing knife outlaws out there . I know the argument against OHK throwing knives is because of range. But what if the dodge is used in very close proximity to an enemy player, it buffs melee ability damage (throwing knife precision damage/or maybe a throwing knife in the back) into a OHK for a few seconds. It meets the criteria of needing charged (dodging) and if you miss the close range PRECISION throw you are probably dead. Then again, I’ve run into plenty of hunters that do fine as is. I just know it would be highly rewarding to dodge a shoulder charge and then throw a knife into a face for a OHK. From a Titan. Edit: or what if the new arcstrider uppercut was OHK. ability cool down remains the same, but since you are using the arcstaff, it also consumes a small orb of light worth of your super. Edit 2: I think another issue is the fact that the throwing knife “ability” isn’t really an ability, but rather a utility. Making it viewed as a “normal” weapon. What if instead of just a regular throwing knife, it was a solar knife? Much like the knife trick ability. Would close range precision OHK proc by close range dodge be justifiable then?

    Honestly, I would settle for a re-work on throwing knife TBH. Outside of new subclass version its a massive handicap for Hunters IMO and the fact its rubbish in both PvP and PvE is a concern. Dodge is pretty useful once you get used to playing with it. That said is clearly worse than the Warlock and Titan class ability.....however, that is ok. Not every class needs to excel in all the same areas.

  • Your proposition sounds more like a panic dodge melee. It’s not balanced if you consider the other two classes which require at least 2 seconds before they can ohk(2 seconds in which you are vulnerable). Hunter ohk should require a precision hit and charge.

    • I really like this idea. Instead of having a dodge that refills you knife hunters could have a dodge that when done close to an enemies grants the ability to throw a OHK solar knife for a very short amount of time 2-3 sec maximum. I never have understood why hunters do not have a ohk melee when the other 2 classes do

    • I mean bullets to the face won’t kill us right away but those fools want a ohk knife. Doesn’t add up. I have a better idea. Remove the male option from hunters, they should only come in female or transgender.

        “From a Titan” most stupid thing ever. Ohk is for close range abilities. Shoulder charge is a close range melee that demands sprinting. Handheld is a close range grenade that demands charge Dodge to be ohk needs to be close range and have some sort of charge.

          • Arc uppercut 100% needs to be a one hit kill why it's not is baffling, throwing knifes people cry to much if u mention them being OHK abilities but they do need a massive dmg buff right now they are useless the tick dmg on a person in super is like 1-2 dmg that's really gonna hurt them 😂😂

            • I just want my thrown melee separate from my standard melee. Can't backpedal and throw a knife without ending up right back where I started. Or go for a regular melee and accidentally wif my throwing knife.

            • I’ve always been fond of the idea of a sprinting roundhouse kick. It doesn’t even need to be a OHK, it could just cause a stun that eliminates the shield so you can light them up. Or finish it with a knife stab to the face. It would be almost as fun as the Titan flying knee.

            • I'd much rather have aim assist removed from titan shoulder charge and melting point. Or removing overshield (for PVP) while shoulder charge / melting point is active. It would make it more risk reward and easier to counter. I play titan mainly, so after bladedancer, F@$# hunters

            • Do you guys understand high risk high reward VS low risk high reward.? If shoulder charge was so op everyone would use it. That's how everything works in Destiny if someone thing is op everyone's uses it. If you make something like a throwing knife a ohk everyone will use Hunters. Throwing knives would be low risk high reward. Anyways my hunter doesn't throw throwing knives he lunge 20ft magically and it kills me.

              • I think it's ok that we can't OHK. But where I have understanding issues is why a Titan can sprint as Fast as a Hunter.... Make Mobility influence sprint speed and I'm a happy hunter.

                    • What if a Hunter (Gunslinger) simply had to "charge" their throwing knife to allow an OHK headshot. Longest range = headshot only. Headshot only = shortest charge time. Short Charge time = low "hold" time. Body shot = 1.5x "normal melee" damage. This would allow a precise Hunter to get satisfying headshot knives without being too game changing. Requiring the charge would prevent "panic" knives from insta-killing, and the short "hold" time (I'm thinking about 3/4 of handheld nova) would help perform the same purpose as for the hhsn: to keep someone from just walking around with a charged OHK. To further this, Explosive Knives could be chargeable too. These might take longer to charge, but allow an OHK on any hit against a Guardian, but also have a brief window for max damage. Thrown at the very cusp of fully charged = OHK, with a drop in damage for each half second after, requiring a blow to the head to guarantee the kill. This would promote precise timing and aim, as well as offer slightly more lethality. Just spitballin here. I'm just a shifty Warlock, so any [b]Hunter[/b] feedback on this would be nice.
