Handheld supernova

It should not be able to 1 shot anybody. No other grenade does. I've seen it kill 3 full health guardians in a hallway. (Granted grenades are potent there anyway) but to get the kill you'd at least have to hit everyone with a bullet after. Edit: didn't realise this before but I meant to say I want the talent balanced by buffing other grenades to also one shot. I'm all in favor of buffs before nerfs. I would love it if they tried stuff like stronger grenades, one shot throwing knives and other stuff for a month or so at a time. Test out the sandbox. Kinda like how fortnite has their limited time playlists to tests their sand box. A pts would benefit greatly

  • Warlocks are the least scary class to run up on. They need it.

    • It only works inside of shotgun range. Don’t get that close if you know it’s a voidwalker with that ability. It’s safe to say any voidwalker is probably running that skilltree 99% of the time.

    • If only Warlocks had an exotic that fully regenerate your health and grenade energy when getting a kill at short range with one of our 1 shot abilities, too bad there's no such thing in the game for any class... Oh wait, it's called Insurmountable Skullfort

    • This not a normal grenade it’s essentially a super super charged one. I fin it funny that people ask for OHK for other classes due to SC and now we don’t want OHK in other classes.

    • I understand you don’t like it since it counters your “rush blindly with a shotgun” strat but maybe you should look at yourself instead of the grenade. Time to play differently if you want to avoid those.

No other melee does. I've seen it kill 3 full health guardians in a hallway (Granted, the titan was wearing Dunemarchers) but to get the kill you'd at least have to hit everyone with another melee after. See what I did there? If you get rid of supernova, then you should get rid of shoulder charge. Then what? It'll just be invisible hunters shotgunning you and dodging back into cover. Certain moves counter other moves. Stop trying to remove the parts of the game that actually make guardians feel powerful. Adapt or die.

            • Yeah but we only get one charge with handheld supernova, maybe two quickly with the gauntlets IF we're lucky since the energy return is totally random. Shoulder charge on the other hand you get infinite charges with the exotic helmet and you get to rush in at full speed rather than walking towards your enemy with the handheld supernova. So yeah, handheld supernova is [b][i]totally[/i][/b] OP. Get real dude, you just want your shoulder charge to be the only OHK ability. Which by the way, shoulder charge can kill three guardians at once in a hallway too, just saying..

                When shoulder charge gets nerfed to not ohk, I'll accept a nerf to my handheld supernova. I only ever use it to kill shoulder charging Titans and shotgunners anyway. Anytime I see a player with some kind of ohk capability, I kill them with Handheld Supernova. It's fair.

                • It should fix it because it's too inconsistent.It should always ohk instead of 50/50.If you rush a warlock charging the gernade then it's your fault.

                • So I’m a hunter main. I tried out the nova warp subclasss for the first time last week. I originally thought the grenade was overpowered. But after playing with it I’ve seen it’s drawbacks. It’s not as consistent of a kill as you’d think. The range for a OHK isn’t that great and many times the grenade left the guardian with about a 1/3 of their health when I thought I was in range. I’d suggest trying to use it first. Honestly I can’t stand 180 shoulder charges more.

                  • The ability fires a ton of mini nades. If Bungie reduces the nades [b]exclusively in PvP[/b] it’s be fine, but it needs them in PvE to be viable especially since charging is risky without contraverse.

                  • I don't really mind the Supernova. Nova Warp could need some adjustments though, it lasts so long and you can blink around and hit people on the other side of walls.

                    Assessing Marathon - old

                    You have to balance it in the full context of the entire class. You can't just balance all grenades across all classes without taking entire classes into account. Some classes have better grenades than others, but have other weaknesses compared to the others. Titan Helms Hunter ever-supers and no-aim OHK panic super Novawarp is a great subclass. The super is good (but gets shut down by other supers pretty easily). The grenade is one of the key perks of the subclass. It is powerful, but it has a very specific range or it kills the user or misses the target completely. It can't shut down roaming supers either.

                        • Hand held supernova is as effective as a shotgun, or a very low range fusion. But, you can only get it every 1-1.5 minutes. But it's ok for anyone to ape around with a shotgun and ohk? handheld is only good for up to 2-4 meteres exactly the same as most shotguns. A chaperone user could snipe a Voidlock from 10 meters and the handheld wouldn't even touch him. The would just pop , and be wasted. And then you don't have a zone control grenade because you just used it to save yourself from a shotgun/charging ape. You can't get salty someone ohk'd you, when the only reason you were ohk'd is because you were about to do the exact same thing to them. And then to the next guy. And the next guy. And the next. And we don't 2 more grenades when we die. We don't get to pick up another grenade when we or a team mate kills someone.

                                Right okay, let’s take your shoulder charge away then, since it shouldn’t one shot. I just find it laughable how it’s a titan posting this. Let’s take a page from your book. Shoulder charge shouldn’t be able to one shot, no other melee does.
