Is there a rule in the crucible preventing someone from showing up with a M16 or a 50 cal sniper, and shooting other gaurdians with it?

The original Kvostov was just a regular, broken down old weapon. We offed a Baron with it and it was effective in regular Crucible.

the closest weapon that resembles an M16 in Destiny is the Khvostov. Going off that was what the basic foot soldier had in during The Collapse...it took about a mag or two in order to kill basic Cabal Legionaries'. We see in the trailer Zavala using an M4....I think (someone with better knowledge will correct me I'm sure)....yet this was during early City Age.....before Twilight Gap....thinking Six Fronts. They were going against Fallen who aren't nearly as durable as Cabal. (Zavala used it against Fallen prior to this too). Most of our modern day weapons would hold up against basic cannon fodder and some Major ground troops. Yet when the big boys start showing up...we'll start wishing for better weapons. I'm sure the Light being infused with us and our gear helps a shit ton...but overall....Destiny's current weapons would make most current weapons shit themselves.

4 RepliesI guess you could do it if you really wanted to, but they would do such garbage damage compared to the futuristic weapons that they wouldn't be worth using. I would guess that the armor would be well suited to defend against something so ancient. Think about it like bringing a sword to a modern battlefield. Technically you could do it, but it would be so ineffective compared to modern weapons that it would just feel kind of pointless.

3 RepliesI think it's because Destiny's weaponry is infused with light rather than just being scraps of metal and tech. I'm not sure about this though.
