When you complete an action in campaign you receive a set number of cr for each commendation involved. When those commendations reach silver the cr per action is removed. People know you receive less every time but this is why.
For instance, that cut scene method involves 2. One yields 150, the other 50. This is why it goes from 200 to 50 than 0.
Gruntpacolypse:To do this go to Matchmaking-Firefight-Score Attack- then proceed to Gruntpacolypse on the desired map, the map i use is Corvette but you can pick your poison.
Commendations: Varying between maps you might be able to get more but credits that are full proof on all maps for this method are:
Longshot- Kill with a precision weapon (DMR)
Numbers Game-multikills
Methodical- any type of spree
Dome Inspector-Headshots
Target Practice- Kill infantry-class enemies
*Trigger Happy- Kill with small arms
--------------------------------------------------------------
Notes: You should average between 1000-1200 between games with getting additional Cr for the commendations completed within the round. the games will average at around 10 minutes so after a while it does get boring but, this will be played for longterm so should be saved last since other methods go faster.*adding the pistol every so often adds up for trigger happy thanks to Maytch and if corvette isn't your style try checking this video out for a quick step by step on Holdout.

TacoHalo: Your kill is my kill at least with the AIs it is, a perfect collection of teamwork founded by no other than TacoHalo himself. Load up Long Night of Silence from mission start(yes the space level), no skulls, on normal. Now storm the beaches. Kill everything in your path and follow the shore till you hit the pier where a dropship will leave a nice wraith for you. Take out the gunner and jump in the turret to make the elite pop out of the drivers seat, after he gets out kill him too, this is to make sure that the wraith is for the most part damage free. Take the wraith back to the beach and boost around the rocks to go up to the facility and proceed to the sandbags and clear the area till you get the checkpoint and turn around facing the beach to get another checkpoint and whether or not you want one a marine will or should have already taken the position of the turret. Just let your AI buddy take out the covenant to get the following commendantions:
Leadership Element- Kill a leader-class enemy
Spec Ops- Kill a specialist-class enemy
War Machine-Kill with your vehicle
Cannon Fodder-Kill an infantry-class enemy
---------------------------------------------------------------
Notes: I hadn't even tried the method and when first told about it thought it was stupid and immediately dismissed it and others followed, but one brave soul tried it and with great satisfaction, according to Pixel Push3r this method averages out to 4 kills a covie and even with dying the method reloads you back to the checkpoint so it naturally becomes a safe easy ride that can be done for the times where you just need a break and sleep in between the tough stuff, for a better retelling go here.

Flawless Cowboy: otherwise known as the cutscene glitch or cutscene farming. I've only done it on Winter Contingency a couple of times but i can say this as a fact, difficulty between legendary and heroic does nothing, skulls do nothing.
The level has to be loaded from start. Play through the entire level, go to the room where you and Jorge will kill the zealot and then push the button to activate the cutscene. Almost 3-4 second after you push the button press start and click "save and quit". you get you Cr hen go back into the menu and resume game. as if god answered your prayers no playing just more Cr. as anyone would guess the affected commendation is:
Flawless Cowboy-complete a level on heroic or harder without dying
Demon-complete a level
---------------------------------------------------------------
Notes: To ONYX the commendation you need to do this 300 times, the Cr for the commendation goes up but, for level completion it gradually goes down. It will proceed from 200 to 50 and most likely will gradually get lower, its one that isn't worth doing for too long, it take about 30 second to do it (because of loading) so anyone could do this in a quick 3 hour sitting and proceed to something greater. To put your hearts at ease

ONI Sword Base: I'm pretty sure this is the method that started all the controversy of Cr Farming. Now to start this level off let's add some skulls. "1.Cowbell" and "2.Thunderstorm" along with any additional desired skull should be used for this particular method.
1.big explosions
2.promote the covenant troops to higher ranks
When the level starts run up the right ramp, don't fight the elite and run pass him and drop to the grassy ledge so you can proceed around the corner(don't stay on the ledge there is this light thing that gets in the way and the grunts just pretty much destroy you, but after that it's ok to get back on the ledge). run down into the "barricade" and pick up the target locator, if the check point came already no big deal but if it didn't then proceed to get it and back up against the slanted door, wait for the check point to finish then aim for the cluster of covenant troops to get a barrage(10 or more) of kills. don't bother doing it again because you'll activate another checkpoint just reload to the previous check point and repeat, over and over again till you ONYX the following commendations:
Splash Damage- Kill an enemy with a heavy weapon
Walking Tank- Earn a multikill
Super Soldier- Earn any type of spree
Leadership Element- Kill a leader-class enemy
Spec Ops- Kill a specialist-class enemy
---------------------------------------------------------------
Notes: Aside from getting the checkpoint right if that's what you care about this method goes in varying speeds, some commendations will be taken out incredibly fast while others will be much slower. Splash Damage will obviously be taken out first but others like Spec Ops and Leadership Element will feel like an eternity and you'll probably not bother with it. It's best to get this done and out of the way so you can proceed to actually having fun as it does get to feel slow.

Banshee: There are many places to kill the banshee or any other vehicular type covenant troop. I'll show you two that work as to my knowledge with the commendations being:
Right of Way-Destroy a vehicle
War Machine-Kill with your vehicle
1.Long Night Of Solace- Alpha Checkpoint, go to the cruiser and blow an engine to activate the checkpoint, after that go beneath the cruiser to find a nest of birds waiting to be taken out, revert the checkpoint. lather rinse repeat.
2.Pillar of Autumn-Raly Point Bravo the very last part where you take control of the big gun kill as many phantoms, spirits, and banshees. It's safe to assume if it flies you should kill it. kill as many things before the covenant cruiser shoots and revert to last checkpoint.
3.New Alexandria- just fly around and destroy, no checkpoints no limits just search and destroy the endless supply of banshee
--------------------------------------------------------------
Notes: Never tried this method yet but heard it's effective, for pillar of autumn i'm not sure if you'll get the war machine commendation but it seems like it'll go by pretty fast with Right of Way.

Nice Arm.A: On Winter Contingency run past everything to the jeep(get stickies) drive to where the spirit drops off a load of grunts (get out just before to activate the checkpoint), then get kills with one throw of the grenade and enjoy the benefits, revert to the last checkpoint and resume. This can also be done in Gruntpacolypse
Nice Arm.B: Pretty much any where you can find a grenade will help but along with Winter Contingency you can also perform this back at Oni Sword Base, but instead of using your target locator your using the mighty throw of a baseball play, although this probably won't take out the big elites you'll get the grunts in between or you can work at both at the same time.
Nice Arm-kill with a grenade
---------------------------------------------------------------
Notes: credit for this goes to RABBIT 00 and Maytch,.

Alright http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=6454594&player=AmbiTionZ%20aG All you have to do is boost while holding A and then you will get part of the wraith over the rock. I didnt get it at first but its pretty easy [Edited on 10.14.2010 2:02 AM PDT]

@SLEEPS1NABOX @OMG iTz M4RiO thanks to the both of you.

I can get you a video in like 5 minutes hold on. EDIT Oh nevermind that guys doing it but i can render the video for you. [Edited on 10.14.2010 1:43 AM PDT]
Posted by: G_Zulu The problem is actually after I boost off the platform and get to the shore. Because if you try to get to the shore as soon as possible you end up stuck in this little group of rocks, so you have to boost out beyond the battlefield again around the rocks, but they're big enough and the wraith doesn't have enough boost so I always end up dieing before I can get back to shore.
You don't have to go around the last rocks. I'll actually make a video and put it on my FS to show you the proper way. (if it gets rendered, cool). I'll update in 10min or so.
Posted by: G_Zulu Does anyone have a video or something for that long night of solace method where you idle in a wraith? I can't seem to get around the rocks once I get the wraith (not without running out of time and dieing, anyway).
Boost off the platform into the water next to the bridge.
Posted by: OHTEHN0ES Today when I was farming sabre kills, and I noticed that after I had done it for a while, the game reverted me to the beginning of the level instead of the checkpoint.
Posted by: AENEASiii sorry i meant credits in general for farming commendations :) also, i am on the package right now in the area where you defend the base. went there after the post with the videos of killing the grunts. this is a great place to jack a banshee to get the xbox 360 achievement AND I timed it so that I have fired a shot to kill a banshee from a banshee when a checkpoint hit. kill banshee revert and repeat. just a reminder that you may encounter situations like this that will be a stroke of luck. i will post a video to my file share later :) back to it
for commendations it doesn´t matter, you can do it on normal but NOT on easy and for flawless gowboy heroic or legendary of course [Edited on 10.13.2010 4:59 PM PDT]
Posted by: Iceberg Halo3 Good thread, I might have to go back through a few posts but for Grounded, can that only be done in Fire fight, not score attack?
You and three friends go into Firefight (Sniper Fight or Rocket Fight) and just be the one to kill the Wraiths and Ghosts.

Can the one on Winter contingecncy where you just resume or whatever, is that consider a bannable offence or is it legit?
Posted by: SHOKAG3 Crash Site: As much as i hate it I have to please the masses. Score attack in theory can be good but, it doesn't me flood my messages with it over and over again. The point of score attack is skill, so let the seasoned players go for this last if they are up for the challenge of realistic simulated warfare. One method for this: A.Bigger Guns:Courtyard, Outpost, Holdout, or Corvette:Sprint/Jetpack: From the start lock the generator and retrieve a Fuel Rod Gun from a Grunt. Go on a destructive path with your weapon and lock the generator as often as possibly can with the finishing result being these quality commendations Get Loud- kill with a heavy weapon Numbers Game- multikill Target Practice-kill an infantry Specialized-kill a specialist Methodical-get a spree In Command-kill a leader Perfectionist-don't die ---------------------------------------------------------------
You can get the Small arms (pistol) commendation from this. Every Grunt (White grunts take two hits) dies with one shot. Every Jackle dies in one shot (although you do have to shoot their hand gun) For them, unless they're running, I shoot them with the fule rod or throw grenades Every Skirmesher dies in 1-2 shots depending on their class. Low class brutes die in 3 shots, gold brutes die in 5, shilded brutes die in 7 shots. Low class Elites die in three shots, white elites take 5 shots, gold elites take 7 shots. Some times when I don't find the fule rod, I use a pistol to kill everything. I ALWAYS drop my DMR for a fule rod. Pistol shoots and reloads faster so when the enemy is clustered I can finish them off pretty quickly. I have a Crash Site on Holdout film on my fileshare where I recieve 1500 credits. I will upload one where I do it solely with a pistol and a few grenades. Currently I hold some of the top reccords in Crashsite on the B.net. If anyone needs any tips let me know. ~FurY~
