Seriously. Why? There's an unfair advantage to the enemy team, not to mention that it seems like no one can join your fire team ESPECIALLY if you're playing control. I'm not a god player, neither are my blueberry team mates and we suffer the same fate. So why should I lose glory points, and not to mention, your streak because some moron left your fire team? Sure, games can be won 3 v 4 but the chances of that are very slim (granted you have a very terrible team which I always have.)
Here on my Luna's Howl grind and I can't get passed 1000 glory points because selfish idiots leave the game before it starts. We either lose nothing, or we lose 1/3 of our points. This is a theme that has been happening over and over. This is the most frustrating thing about competitive. It sucks. When things like this happen, I want to leave the game, but I can't because I'll get suspended from playing competitive. Well, not like Bungie will listen anyways, but worth a shot.

Why should I lose a massive amounts of glory points from being forced join into a match that’s already half way over? This shit has been happening 75% of my damn time when I play comp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wtf bungie
-
5 RepliesBecause streamers wanted this and bungie is....Streamers= Community. Honestly the ranking system is bullshit.
-
3 RepliesI made a post about this yesterday. I was infuriated when 4 out of 5 games I played I either loaded with 3 players or someone left early on. I saw my competitive rank drop from 983 to 700. On the flip side to this, I got error code weasel on two separate occasions yesterday in the middle of comp matches. After the second one I turned off Destiny as I assumed they were having server issues. When I rebooted the game last night I had a Competitive Playlist Ban for leaving games early. In summary, I have never in my years of gaming saw a system so fundamentally flawed as D2’s competitive ranking system. People lose connection and your team gets screwed. Bungie’s p2p servers have issues at no fault to the player and not only does the player get screwed but the remaining teammates also do.
-
No ranked system should count an unfair game in either direction. As soon as someone leaves (by any means), the game should prompt the disadvantaged team to vote to quit the game. If they vote unanimously to abandon the game, then the match ends. But even if they play it out, it should not count - and everyone should be made aware of this. The person who left the game (if they didn't receive an in-game error or known issue) should receive a warning that they've gotten strike one - on strike 3 of any inexplicable disconnection there should be a penalty. If you're disconnecting due to Bungie, then Bungie should know that. But quitters deserve absolutely BITTER penalties, especially if it's known that they left on purpose... You should never lose points because you were outnumbered. That's not a representation of anything useful...

8 RepliesWhy should you lose GP in general? Just make it so you don’t get points if you lose. Make players who quit suffer the penalty of GP loss for being unsportsmanlike. It is a simple fix and bungie just ignores it. My opinion however....
-
1 ReplyIf you didn’t lose glory it a teammate left the game that could be heavily exploited
-
You made a good point. the person that should loose the streak is the one that left. Leave mechanics should be significantly more penal in my opinion.
-
We all get it, it sucks. Plain and simple shittiest feeling. But bungie can't allow players to remain the same rank after someone left. You will see strategies with teams where players rotate on who leaves a match if the team will lose. And it causes issues and toxicity. Bungie has recognized the issue, and hopefully they are acting on the issue and banning players. I do encourage you to keep playing, keep trying to get that Luna's Howl. Try finding teammates to join up with that issue will arise less if you make a fire team and make friends with players. And when you see someone leave, report them to Bungie, and report them to PlayStation, Blizzard or Microsoft. They also have policies to prevent that, and hopefully it all catches up to players some day.

2 RepliesAs a solo player I'd like to see a system where the person on the losing team who got the most kills loses less points, because bungie usually gives me potato teammates
-
You should lose points however you should be able to leave the match early to not kill k/d and easy my time
-
9 RepliesYou didn't lose glory points because someone left. You lost glory points because you lost the game.
-
Because there's no better solution.
-
Because if there is nothing in the Glory Hole ... you cant win points ...
-
this reminds me of that one time i found a hole in a public restrooms cubicle. i looked at it and i got poked in the eye. i didn't see that one coming. so i left.
-
If he left after the game started, yes. If he left during the loading screen, no.
-
9 RepliesYes, it would be exploited to hell and back if that wasn't the case. With every team having at least 1 "leaver" to take the fall if things go badly. Then we'd also have non-fireteam team members messaging each other demanding that they leave.
-
2 RepliesFeel free to complain that same point in literally any other competitive game. Just to set you up though, you'll get laughed at and told to take the loss. Leavers do need a stricter penalty besides a slap on the wrist and 30 mins. The leaver penalty should increase like other games do.

58 RepliesEdited by JKLCSM: 10/12/2018 8:31:24 AMYou didn't lose glory because someone left. You lost glory points because you lost the match which could have been as a consequence of someone leaving the match early but it's unknown whether them staying would have meant your team would have won for sure. In which case your team has rank inflation, since it should have technically been lower if the full team was there to take the loss. As you addressed earlier it's not impossible to win a 3v4 if you have a good team, so why should a system be sympathetic to teams that prematurely loses members when determining the how to dish out rewards/penalties? A system where losing a member could offset the loss of glory, could see teams taking in their "fall guy" where they have a designated diver just in case things go pear shaped, the ease at which people can make accounts, means the short term bans won't really affect teams who engage this, as they could just switch accounts and continue on. If it's a bunch of solo's, if your team is getting pummelled, guess what, someone or some people in that team is/are going to verbally suggest that someone leaves so that the rest of the players can be spared the loss the of glory. How that is suggested and the resulting follow ups from the others may amount to bullying. This would definitely happen if a 2-3 stack loaded in with 1-2 randoms, it would not be hard to imagine that the 3 stack would gang up on the random to leave just to protect themselves. So either way, you mitigate the loss of glory for teams sticking it out when the team member leaves, you're going to have people that either abuse the system or abuse others to abuse the system.

8 RepliesBecause if you didn't lost glory points in a situation like this, it would be exploitable as hell. I understand the frustration, but the best thing to do is spend some more time on clan recruitment finding an active group of people to play with that way you can run with a team instead of solo-queuing.
-
7 RepliesMaybe losing less points in that situation would work but losing none would be something easily exploited.
-
I agree with you to an extent. You shouldn't lose as much if someone leaves. I read a bunch of the comments and one that was funny was the fact that some people expect a 3 vs 4 team to be able to win, which justifies losing all of the points you normally would. But if matchmaking was good, and matched people appropriately, the skill level of the teams should have been close enough that if a single player leaves, the impact should be pretty big. If one player can carry that match all the time, they aren't playing against the right opponents. Either through sandbagging or a bad system. It's like that in all sports. It's why amateurs don't play against pro teams. The only time that should be OK is if it is the top of the game. If you are the top 100 players, there is no one else to match against except the next lowest available players.
-
Someone took something precious from you, he took your innocence and you feel so disgusting, dirty and tainted. #Me too
-
10 RepliesYou lost. You didnt lose glory because someone left. You lost glory because you lost the match.
-
The best PvP players know how to work the 30fps lag. You might be able to make up for some of that difference by joining a PvP centric clan, download each map and study them, and practice tight-knit teamwork; but even then you're going up against players that can not only do that, but are 'naturals' at PvP and putting lag to work for them. An option that should be obvious is to find a PvE Luna's Howl option and stay a solo and/or poor communicator.
-
You can still win a game in most modes down a player..
-
Because there's potential for exploitation maybe?
