Is this Viable?
Edit: People may be a bit confused as to what I am suggesting.
I am proposing an option to switch between First Person and Third Person in PvE only. Essentially you go into your settings and just choose the option.
If it is a big hit, Bungie could create a Crucible playlist, just one for Third Person only.

I agree destiny should definitely do an update for third person option just like WWZ did wit aftermath and giving you the option to switch from third person to first I would be forever hooked on Destiny then!!!!
-
I agree for 3rd person shooter please Bungie p!ease add

3 RepliesThey have that, it's called Fork Knife or something

2 RepliesTired of waiting for Anthem?

5 RepliesBeing a first person MMO/rpg/looter is one of things that makes Destiny what it is.
-
15 RepliesI really don't think third person would work out. The weapons were designed with first person in mind, even using the glitches to go into third person made it pretty difficult to effectively hit targets. A waste of time in my opinion.

1 ReplyI'll let you in on a little known secret. Not many people know about it, and not alot of people use it as often as they should.
swords.
7 RepliesDuck Fat!!!! I can’t stand 3rd POV. That’s why GoW and another supposedly destiny game killer is collecting dust.

3 RepliesWasn't there a 3rd person pvp mode, or am I trippin?

Stealing Crota's Soul Destiny 1: Third Person Example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ab95MjRYgY

The code already exists for this and worked pretty well- that D1 stealth mission that took place in Crota’s End had 3rd person mode enabled- even the UI was set up for it. I’d like to see it as an option.
-
One of my friends tried out d2 and said that he didn’t like the first person, and if it had the option for third person he’d play it in a heartbeat
-
1 ReplyIt's viable. Remember D1 when we had to sneak into CE to steal his soul? I've been wanting TPP since then.

6 RepliesEdited by Lord_Shar: 10/11/2018 11:15:28 PM
Is this Viable?
The Division, Borderland's Trillogy, etc... have all shown that over-the-shoulder shooters work fine if properly implemented. The key is to line up the cross-hair over the player's shooting arm -- otherwise you get misaligned crosshairs like those in SWBF. EDIT: It's been a while since I've played the BL series, so it's possible I got the 3rd person part incorrect on that title ;) The Division does use 3rd person aim correctly though.

1 ReplyThe amount of people getting angry at a fun little suggestion is amazing.
Yet again same shit has been happening since I first visited the forums so it's unsurprising.
I would love third person PvE
-
I wouldn’t mind the option for it. I mean, I would be able to see “all the customization options” the game has. I would be able to tell of my character looks fugly w/o the helmet, I’d be able to see if the armor I’m wearing looks funky while I’m walking. Eh, if this game wasn’t such a barebones shit when it came to actual customization I’d say yes but since Bungie went super minimal on anything “creative” for their players there’s not a real reason for me to into 3rd. For exploring I could see TPS helping some. It’s not something crazy to ask for but in the grand scheme of all the things needing attention I don’t think it would be a priority for this title. Maybe a option for 3...if we make it that far?
-
2 RepliesYes. As it would be optional and PvE-only, the people losing their shit can go and lose it somewhere else. No reason someone else couldn't play a strike with you in third person. You wouldn't even know. That Crota mission in D1 proved it was possible. The shots were as accurate as first person and everything. I'd like to know why it would be a bad thing. If you want to mindlessly spout "FPS" remember it would be optional. You've no right to dictate how others play PvE.
-
3 RepliesYes absolutely. Use the storm caller glitch near ana bray and mess about on patrol. It’s a lot of fun.
-
2 RepliesEdited by w3rdblader: 10/11/2018 2:25:18 PMYes and no. It's doable, but with their current system your precision would drop drastically
-
4 RepliesThere used to be a glitch to get into third person and shoot. It seemed possible, kind of like mass effect
-
You could run behind me for a while and check out my *** if you want.

Idk I would take the option. It works well in games that do it well, and I'd trust Bungie. I like first person too, but from time to time, I do have that it's not actually first person. Idk about you, but I can see quite a lot in my field of vision even without moving my eyes. You can't even see your forearms, elbows or shoulders. It's almost like you actually have less vision somehow lol.

I thought the whole point of Destiny was for it be mostly 1st person....
-
Eew, why?
