Please just remove comp. Its not "competitive". With all the stats out there it's strange that you haven't built an effective skill -determining-platform. 1. Crucible, in general, needs to have the multi-lobbies removed and subsequently replaced by gametype specific lobbies. I should be able to choose "competitive 》control" or "quickplay 》 control", or whatever gametype. I should not have to partake in the gametype lottery. 2. Remove the loss of points when losing. There are so many times when a player really contributes to the team effort but still loses. Its like a double punishment. Losses shouldn't earn points and shouldn't lose them. 3. Instead of skill based matchmaking Id rather be grouped into tiers that only change twice annually. Vast quanitities of data relevant to true skill is available on 3rd party sites so I'm sure you have a large data set on your servers. That data should group people into tiers. When someone logs on they are already in that skill tier. When matchmaking the system prioritized connection to others within your tier. There could be a small amount of forgiveness. If the tiering used on raid report is similar, a bronze may be matched with silver or gold but never diamond or platinum.

  • so basically ur salty because u lose? I mean ye the matchmaking is far from great but the mode itself, as well as the point loss/gain is fine. U lose points in any ranking system ever, even if you did well, in Dota, leauge, CS:GO whatever. Deal with it.

  • Just because the manor in which you present your argument is fine, doesnt mean the reasons for you doing so arent based on salt or negative feelings. For example - losing points, this is possibly the worst idea that could be implemented in the game, period. 1) it makes people not care about what they do, which could lead to throwing games or just trolling anyone that they dislike. 2) actually punishes people more due to less stakes, akin to point 1, people wont care as much if they win or lose, which can just cause people who are trying to win more time than they wouldve before to get to a rank. 3) rank will mean absolutely nothing, i mean come on look at any game with a rank system ever. league, dota, cs:go, overwatch, bunch of mmos. You name it - ranked playlist is competitive, you lose points if you lose, its that simple. 4) it devalues any pinacle pvp reward like lunas howl, which simply becomes a time investment, so even the worst players could get it, they should not be able to if they arent good enough (thats literally the point). Thats just ONE of your points, i could dismantle the rest too but you see what i mean, dont let your negative experience blind your judgments. Thanks.

  • You didnt dismantle anything, just reiterated your own saltiness and lack of ingenuity. 1-2: none of that matters because people do throw matches, disconnect, go afk, etc all the time in the current system. 3-4: these are virtual rewards without any intrinsic value, they are literally meaningless, just digital junk... Nothing Ive stated hurts anything. Everything I stated would serve to increase the competitive nature of the play. These suggestions would also, most likely, increase the desire of people to play and keep playing more games. The most common complaint I read is about losing points and poor matchmaking, aka too many wipeouts. Now, I enjoy a good wipeout sometimes but Im super competitive. Because Im so competitive Id rather have tight games almost all the time. But, right now, current state, there are many wipeouts. This fact is not disputed and works contrary to the stated mission and very name of the event: competitive. Now, if you insist on continuing the discussion you will be respectful, and so will I, in all future discourse. If not, Ill just reply with silence. Good day.

  • Without even reading the rest of your post simply "these are virtual rewards without any intrinsic value" - you do not understand the point of the game, hence you will not understand the reasons for people wanting them. Can't discuss this at all if you miss the point completely.

  • This is Bungie so they know the algorithm and whatnot so why not a ranking similar to halo. The number and military style rank.

  • Because this isn't the same exact Bungie. Most of their multiplayer team stayed on and made 343.
