Is Titan Skating Fair?
CammyCakes recently did a video discussing shotgun counters, and in the video he also went over his frame-counted projections on player movement speed.
Titan Skating moves a player nearly twice as fast as the normal sprint.
In fact, it moves faster than even the fastest supers in the game, Dawnblade and Nova Warp -- therefore, just by abusing the scroll-wheel / macro exploit, Titan Skaters can outrun any Super.
It effectively allows a single Titan to have the map coverage of two players.
It breaks game modes like Breakthrough and Control, who's Timers are supposed to be finely tuned.
This is an absolutely unforgivable exploit that breaks so many facets of the Crucible and needs to be addressed.

Titan skating should be disabled or integrated into the game as not an exploit but a feature. One or another, otherwise it's game breaking not intended game mechanics that works only on PC and thus draws no attention from Bungie :(

10 RepliesEdited by Fabled-Red: 10/15/2018 2:04:05 AMThe gotta remember here that titans have more speed, but no real “mobility” or “control”, you don’t get the precision air jumping of the hunters, and we don’t get to shoot in the air or have the control of air movements like warlocks. All we have is speed tbh (and height if you put lift but who in the hell does that?! Even catapult makes you go up way too much in D2?) I know we are faster but you honestly couldn’t stop once you started to skate at a good pace so you lost the control and fine movement for blistering speed. Lose two things for a big boost to one. I also don’t like that it wasn’t changed for the whole life of D1 but was just suddenly taken, it was honestly one of the coolest community discoveries and I feel like I’ve lost something because of it. That’s just me tho I play console btw

Maybe not fair, but I'd much rather everyone have the ability or an equivelant to it, rather than they remove it again. Plus it would make Hunter less boring to play. I don't know if their engine would be able to do it, but I'd love to have Quake style strafe jumping or crouch sliding in Destiny. The initial lack of skating is the whole reason I held off of getting D2, even before all of the other issues that popped up.

It’s not a practical way of playing and you have to have a scroll wheel so it’s not possible on console.

just make mobility effect sprint speed so if the titan goes to fast they die from wall.

15 RepliesIt doesn’t need a nerf, especially in the bad spots Titans are in right now. They can barely move faster than a hunter who is sprinting. However, macros should be completely forbidden and keep a player from logging in if they have one active.

1 ReplyThe problem isn’t in the mechanics of Titan skating, it’s macros. It’s literally cheating and it should be a permanent ban if someone is caught.

Yeah, I'm glad I don't play on PC. I would hate every second of crucible if I did.

Tbh I always felt like it should be okay but have it so that directional control is less fluid to put the emphasis on a Titan "charging into battle" at full speed rather than having the directional fluidity that warlocks should have. Idk just my thoughts, it could be left unchanged but they could buff hunter's mobility idk.

I dont know. Sometimes I feel like Im in that dream where your trying to run as fast as you can but going f-in nowhere. I thought my Dunemarchers might be glitched or something. lol!

Its fair, just buff the warlock glide, its terrible compared to titan and hunter jumps. It feels like theres extra gravity or something

1 ReplyIf titan skating was scaled back a bit and every class had its own skate it would be cool for both PvP and PvE.(And for the love of god some in air control) Right now though titan skaters with shotguns are way too strong. Mind you its usually not just one but all 4 stacked titan skaters ruining the crucible.

4 RepliesIt doesn’t matter what class of character you play each have their strong points and they with points. What needs to happen is that the bitching about one class abilities to stop. It you can’t adapt to the situation then this game is not for you and you should move on and stop complaining

I've said it before and will say it again, skating/surfing should not be a thing. And considering it's only able to be done on PC with macros, it makes it all the more an unintended exploit.
