Breakthrough in Competitive is Ruining the Game
Dear Bungie,
I appreciate the fact that expanding game modes in Competitive Playlist is making it more enticing to play.
I would like to point out a fatal flaw in the Breakthrough Mode though.
I was forced to leave a Competitive Game which resulted in me getting a SUSPENSION because my entire team left. and the enemy team refused to capture the breaker. which always resulted in a tie and thus never ending the game.
This is not fun. i was basically getting farmed and with no absolute way to end the game. When i forcibly left the game. I was hit with a suspension for leaving a comp game!!
it was 1v4. with no way to end the game. this is not fair.
please give us leave penalty immunity for games with leavers or unbalanced teams.
at least put a mercy rule for it where if it ties 3 games in a row the side with the highest points win.
If not people are just gonna exploit this and people like me will be stuck in un-leave-able games cause if we do we are gonna get slapped with a penalty.
bungie please look into this matter.

2 RepliesI really don't understand Bungie's logic behind having penalties for leaving unbalanced games. Frankly, the Glory rank shouldn't be based on win/loss because of how bad the lag is. Now, we have a game mode that allow teams to troll single players or weak teams, unbelievable!

2 RepliesI'm starting to hate the entire game. Right now I'm just killing time until red dead redemption 2. I'm tired of the servers. At first seeing bullets, rockets, grenades and melees do absolutely nothing to enemies in both pve and pvp was laughable. By the millionth time its beyond frustrating. I love challenging content but this game is challenging for all the wrong reasons. Just a few minutes ago I was shooting at an invader in gambit. And I got his health down to one more shot but then he disappeared. I then died from a rocket to my back by the invader. It's one of too many incidents. And a couple matches before that I was hitting an invading warlock in his super with 2 shots from a heavy weapon. They did no damage. He just turned and killed me. Yet I get one shotted out of supers from sleepers left and right. This isnt fun at all. Oh and the matchmaking is crap too. And it's not just in competitive. It's in quick play and gambit. You get stomped by a 4 stack one match and you end up playing the same team a few more times in a row. Sorry but this isn't even close to being fun.

1 ReplyCompetitive has been a mess since it was rolled out...it truly is no fun, my gf watched me struggle as I made the best attempt to get Redrix,,,as I constantly faced 3 v 4 and we would still almost win, she'd say, gosh if that person would have stayed you could've won....then 2 v 4...then 1 v 4....she said...why are you doing this to yourself

I feel like defending shouldn't be rewarded with a point. It creates a problem where teams just wait to defend to win. Its obnoxious. Otherwise its my second favorite gamemode.

Wow I literally just made a post about this. I got a suspension just 20 minutes ago because I had to back out of a 25 minute long breakthrough match and the score was only 1-0, cos my daughter woke up. It’s -blam!-ing ridiculous

Also, well of light (or whatever it is called) is ridiculous in this mode. I watched a hunter get buffed and tank a nova bomb, a swarm grenade, and a cluster rocket. Never even broke his shield.

I dont want a fix i simply want the game mode gone. All the videos i have seen and the few game i have played convince me that this game mode was not thought out well and i just dont want it.

I feel your pain I’m struggling to get to fabled because of this stupid game mode!! My last game I’m in 4 wins and crushing the opposition for my 5th, my team lags out and I get -blam!-ed over losing my streak to take me to heroic and losing points!! Stupid ranking system!!

Breakthrough is a cool idea, and has real promise, but in NO WAY is it ready for the comp playlist. It needs to be removed until it’s fine tuned. But that’s Bungie for you — using a “competitive” mode as a beta testing ground.

Shittiest game mode created. Spawn delays prevent any team on defense from actually defending.
