RNG boss spawn that after a combined 24 hours worth of farming I have NEVER seen ONCE. The boss never spawned over countless games. I don't mind exotic drops nor do I mind exotic quests. But if I farm for a day's worth of time and never see the boss once, there's an issue. On top of that, if your blueberries are just potatoes in disguise, you might see a glimpse of the boss if you're lucky. But then there's also the enemy team, which if you're a solo player playing against a 4 stack (which should still never happen Bungie, please for the love of god make solos v solos.) the 4 stack might just make off like a magician and the primeval instantly disappear.
In essence, it's RNG upon Chance upon Chance. Unless the other team already have malfeasance and are willing to throw, or you go into a 4 stack with people you know are good.
And on top of that, if you're going for the Dredgen title like I a, you have to do it. 2. More. Times. The Gambit ship and Sparrow are locked behind the 2nd and 3rd Ascendant Testicle kill.
Gambit's already getting a bad wrap, this is just making it worse. Why make the quest drop RNG?
Personally, either make it a rare drop from killing a regular primeval, or even just make the Primeval Captain the only one who has a rare chance to drop it. Unless there's some odd voodoo ritual we have to do to spawn the boss that most people somehow brute forced, this is one of the worst exotic quests ever made.
Edit: 100+ Games later and counting, not a single spawn. Good job Bungie on accomplishing to burn me out of my favorite game mode.

Edited by Angelus: 9/29/2018 9:20:41 AMI totally agree with this post, even though I am more doing it on the pretense that Bungie in their "infinite wisdom" will make having all exotics some part of Bungie Rewards for something that I want from it. This whole deal it outrageous on so many levels. One the grind to even see it, as I been lucky enough to see it twice. Out of all the gambit games I have played I've seen it twice and been matched with people that have no clue how to do the boss phase or way under powered. This especially true when it generates it orbs to cause itself to go immune. Personally if you are going to pull something like this and give the community no clue how to kill it or make the information so widespread then why even have it before you make it live why even have it. While the last team I was with knew how to play gambit, but they had no clue how to defeat this boss, as we won the 2 normal boss matches with no problem with a large margin. We almost ran out the clock due to I had to get in group chat and tell them how to defeat it, but by that time the other team had their prime evil and melted it with sleepers, EP shotguns, and warlock and titan supers. This on top of having to deal with freaking invaders when we started to make progress. Yes, I get it you want to make the pretense / call that you want the community to figure it out. I've heard that's your big sound bite with you as of late, especially with Dreaming City. Yet, making it super rare to even cause it to spawn then not giving the info on how to beat it when you do see it that's just plan insane or stupid on your part Bungie. Now if it spawned more often like every 5th game or was like a raid were you could repeat over and over till you figure out the mechanics of it. I would get being all "tight lipped" about information. Yet, this is not repeatable in a realistic time frame or situation. While your definition of realistic maybe or is very skewed to the rest of the worlds definition. I should not have to maybe put in hundreds of games to see it and not have team-mates that know at least how to defeat if I even see it in that match. For an example, the first time I got it I had no clue that it was even in the game or what it was. All i knew was this was a different boss in the rotation and thought nothing more than "oh a different boss in the rotation. I guess they needed something different then the three they had", till 5 hours later when people started blowing up reddit and youtube with it and how to defeat it. Which both times I've seen it this has happen and I have missed this sliver of chances to get at most the quest part. All because of you Bungie not informing the community and/or making it realistic to be able to repeat it if need be. The Whisper of Worm quest starter was fine once you figure out how to start it and if need be is repeatable if need be. Yet, for what ever reason you decided to do this. Have you not learned from the problems Redrix's Claymore caused with groups of people rigging games, boosting, among all grinding their way and the comments made about it tied to a system that if you lost then you would go backwards from your goal. Basically punishing you for maybe not having the best team dynamic or regular people that you can play with on a regular basis in crucible that you can be somewhat competitive against a full clan fire-team. More recently the Iron Banner bounties and Ace of Spades gambit part. For, allot of the people I play with wont touch Crucible due to how you get stacked at times, the people that make it toxic in fire team chat / voice, and/or they are not good at PVP or cannot keep up with the fast moving dynamic of some of the modes. While some people refuse to play with me on the on the sheer basis that you pretty much either have to play as a hunter or a warlock to get anywhere among all if you get stack with a clan team of nothing but them then you are more likely to lose due to them popping supers like fights happening on Black Friday over the last crappy hundred dollar 4k 50 inch curve LED tv and their supers being at times over OP on certain maps.
