I need to go get it. I don't have it, but the Badlander is just as good. I have one with almost the same exact perks and since I'm a 'lock, my solar melee empowers me... turning my Badlander into a makeshift EP shotty. It works, I haven't taken it off. They have identical stats.

Think of it this way... with your melee and the trench barrel perk that's double the buff which wrecks. Glad all classes got this not just titan. Now everyone can experience the absolute destruction you can do with it.

If I had the EP shotty I would be happy. I melee even if I don't my shotty equipped just to give my team the buff.
